Still think he would be a class act for anyone in our division.

Not true at all. I heard from someone who I trust completely that he has had plenty of offers, some quite lucrative, but he’s conscious of uprooting his family who are happily settled here. He’s had offers abroad but contract length is only 1 or maximum 2 years. His choice was always to stay here if the offer was there, and it wasn’t about him being unwilling to take a pay cut, he wants to plan his longer term career and take his coaching badges.

well I hope the club can come to some arrangement with him... I for one would like to see him stay. I do not see him as one of the first names on the sheet , but a very good asset for us.

Plus he and his family are settled here. If has no better offer I think (hope) he will re-sign on a 1 year contract.
Adam still has a lot to offer as a player and future coach. Some of the stuff on here on other threads has been disrespectful to a Barnsley legend, but happlily only from a very small minority. I would like to think that Adam knows he would be welcomed home by the vast majority of fans.

Can't think many teams in this league would be happy about him coming on after 70 minutes. He would be an asset in my opinion.

Get him signed. He's still got the ability and desire to be a very useful player at this level.

Anyone know how much the coaching badges cost? Maybe we should have a whip round?

The cost of the FA football coaching badges is subject to the County FA you decide to take the course with but the average for each is around:

    Level 1 – £150 Sheffield & Hallamshire FA charge £180.

    Level 2 – £320 Sheffield & Hallamshire FA charge £300

    UEFA B – £720

    UEFA A – £3000

    UEFA L5 Pro licence £8951

The cost can vary quite a bit and there are add on costs and prerequisites you have to keep up to date which you may need to take before you can move from one level to another. Child Protection and Emergency First Aid are usually only valid for 3 years and then there are DBS checks. If you work at grassroots for free like I did it can be quite costly just keeping up to date.

I think the thing is with this mate is that the wages he is likely to be looking at are maybe in the clubs eyes too much to be sitting on a bench not starting in this league, also Adam wouldn’t want that either so it’s the best for both parties that a deal can’t be made. Just my opinion maybe I could be completely wrong!

His last two seasons were very average after a brilliant effort in 2015-16. We have plenty of midfielders anyway. I thought his best game last season was when he went central midfield against Brentford but we should admit now it's over for him as far as Oakwell is concerned.

If you are a player or x player think the fa pays a bit of that too...got a mate who has qualified up to the A licence....(x player)...personally I think on this one he's (hamill) in the sir Bobby mold....ie all for the club etc...great relationship with fans too....clubs need players like this... they don't come along too often....kerp him pay for his badges
