When you think about it they cannot afford to get this wrong if Bradshaw goes, let’s hope he is as good as Dougall whoever it is.
Even in the current market, which is slightly less crazy than the last window, 1 million is a good price for us. By no means is he a proven goal scorer in the champ and unlike other players who have recently moved for decent money (i.e Jackson) he offers nothing in terms of pace and doesn't contribute to assists. Also need to consider the fact he has 12 month on his contract left on his contract. I think Bradshaw worked well in current system and would've liked him to stay. However, i think he is replaceable. My only concerns are that we don't have a replacement lined up and/or DS didn't sanction the transfer.
I’ve had a think anyway Some players come, some go. It’s nothing we haven’t seen or dealt with before In the words of anyone from tarn.... it be reight.
Bradshaw had almost twice aslong as winnall did on his contract. I hear the term running bfc as a profit often we probley made 100% profit on winnall we haven't done that with Bradshaw if he leaves for 1million
We've had three loan players lined up for the last two weeks in case we got an offer too good to turn down or had to let someone leave. I'd be surprised if we didn't convert two of those in to signings before the end of AUgust. I rate and like Bradshaw and I'm sad to see him leave when i thought he'd give us until January, but how many goals has he scored in 2018? Yet some folk are insisting we'd have been short changed at anything under £2 million. Umbrage, Lanterns. Pitchforks.
Exactly what I was thinking. It's not about blind trust in the board, it's about them knowing that this is a good deal for Barnsley. That we'll secure a piece of his future, and if he scored 20 with Millwall this season he'll get bought by who every gets promoted and we'll get some more cash!! Blood our young talent and move on. Bye bradders ... It's been emotional (or not)
There’s not a chance we’d be able to sign a replacement that’s scored goals in the championship (also playing up front on his own with basically no service behind him) and has history of scoring a lot of goals in league 1 for a million quid. I get the contract issue with him but £1 million is still far too low I think. I suppose the powers that be agree with you over me though, I just really hope they’ve got replacement(s) lined up.
It would of cost us about 5million to replace winnall at the time. It would cost us more than a million to replace Bradshaw that's why all this is counter productive for me especially when it looks like we have assembled a regular starting 11 which is able to compete at the top of this league.
Hope to God we ev or January cud be another fire sale that fecks us up. Shurley these owners aint that daft are they?
Bradshaw was replacement for George Lillycrop. It takes a bit of time to get these deals over the line you know.
Winnall bought for 250k from scunny sold for 700k Bradshaw bought for 650k sold for 1million. Do the maths we made more profit on winnall if true and took a regular out of a good side which will leave us with 2 strikers couldn't make it up can't believe folk are trying to justify it. Same old.
I’m sure Winnall was sold for 500k which would make the point about more profit being made on Winnall being inaccurate. Interesting.
Pretty sure it wasn't 500k fella. But even if it was which it wasn't. Bought for 250k sold for 500k 100% profit margin TB bought for 650k sold for 1million 35% profit margin
Like I said I remember at the time Giddings was reporting 700k with add ons. Also people talk about running barnsley fc as a business well look at profit margins of the 2 because that's what a business is about. And you don't sell your assets at the worst possible time when you are restricted to only the loan market. Dress it up how you want it's counter productive.
That’s the top and bottom of it for me. If we don’t have a replacement lined up to come in ASAP then it’s a bad decision made.
