They're not, sports agents talk to sports agents from other agencies too, I was just simplifying it. The most money a sports agent makes is when their client is transferred as they get a percentage of the deal and as such it is always in their interests to share information.
It's not classic, it's an example like he was asked for. Hammill was another. McIndoe is a good example as the club actually commented on the issue that Supertyke has highlighted.
Paul heckingbottom announced a new contract on Friday. Release clause activated by Leeds United on Monday.
What the **** are you talking about Chris? What do you mean you have refuted it? Why do you demand that I list every time it's happened when you claimed it doesn't happen and I gave proof that it does? I didn't say that EVERY player leaves for that reason, I simply said it does happen. And another prime example of people not knowing how to keep their gob shut is who their the **** was telling your mate the other Chris sensitive, confidential and potentially damaging information about Barnsley fc for him to splash all over the Internet in return for likes.
There’s no evidence that I’ve seen to suggest that Wolves’ bid activated a monetary release clause in Hammill’s contract. Do you have a link? The same with McIndoe.
Seems a stupid recent addition to our club. For over 100 years fees were shared. Clubs with players we want will always find a way to know what we got for a player and so the only people who won't know is us the fans. For example if we go for Chaplin I don't think undisclosed will make a difference to what Pompey ask for him, as I'm sure they could find out what we paid if they really wanted.
The McIndoe one was stated by the club as being so - are you saying they lied to us The Hammill one was also stated by the club - saying he would only sign if there was a release clause if a Prem club came in for hm In both cases they were reported in the media as official statements from the club Im certain Vas Te was the same and with a 500K release clause Im also sure there were others but cant be bothered to trawl back though either my memory or past minutes of meetings with Patrick /Gordon shepard etc
I'm sorry but I'm not searching the internet for links from years ago because you can't remember the very well publicised fact that both the deals for Hammill and McIndoe were due to offers being received that triggered a release clause. We can't be held responsible for your ignorance.
These are contractual clauses whereby the club are obliged to accept a bid from a team from a higher division. Your post referred to undisclosed fees and release clauses met by teams who meet said fee, that’s completely different.
Sausages are different to minimum fee release clauses too but fortunately nobody was talking about sausages either. Ps, Michael mcindoe joined a team in the same league. We were forced to give forest permission to talk to hammill and they were in the same league. Vaz te signed for a club in the same league. Not sure what you're getting at
ST, you’re talking about release fees in this thread. I think it’s time to knock this one on the head. Your entire argument is based on clubs knowing exactly what to pay yet the Hammill, McIndoe and Vaz Te deals were involving clubs whose offers activated additional clauses that weren’t solely related to the monetary value of the offer. I’m out anyway, have a good one gents.
I was told in person by our former owner that both transfers came after activation of release clauses. It’s beyond naive to think that other clubs and agents won’t know exactly what an ‘undisclosed fee’ is. For my part I don’t care either way if they release the fee or not but the argument about other clubs ‘holding us to ransom’ is disingenuous.
Add Craig davies. You know. At the fan meeting where I asked the question and specifically told no one else had any release clauses. 2 weeks later we had to accept a bit for 300k. Miraculously the exact same amount as his release clause....
