lad at work just come back from chippy, has got fish chips and peas - £7.00..........£7.00!!!!! I remember going into town on a saturday and getting chips, beans and scraps in a box form Mermaid and I'm sure chips were about 30p and beans about 25p and scraps were for nowt!
And folk pay ten quid plus for currys and seven quid at mcdees so what thats the market price. Or go to woodys pay three quid for watered down peas battered tadpole size fish and oven chips.
The budget chippy near me is about £9. For decent ones a ten minute walk away, they are about £13. £7.... i'd snatch your hand off!
London I'm guessing? Was surprised at fish chips and peas costing £6.50 roughly at Rochdale before the game on Tuesday. They were bloody good though.
Just got back from skeggy after a few days with the young un. £4.99 for haddock, chips and beans/gravy/peas. £5.99 for cod. Decent portions.
Fraid so. getting to a point where they are borderline cheaper in gastropubs. A decent chippy at borough market called Fish! but they are pretty steep and if I drink beer, for some reason fish and chips absolutely kill me, so very rarely have them these days.
Wow thats what I pay in Farnham - I am fairly sure Fish Chips and Peas at Tunstall Cross in Wombwell is around £5 and thats a large portion as well - much larger than the Farnham one - think its around £5 at the new one up by Wombwell Main as well
from a place called Fish Bits in Donny - couldn't believe it - although the box looks like it probably cost about £2.00 on its own
Harry Ramsbottoms near the clock tower. Can't miss it. Never seemed to be closed. Trawlers catch is good too just down from it, that's got a massive Spider-Man on it's window.
