Manchester Airport is a hell-hole. Try to avoid like the plague.

Leeds/Brad, East Mid, Donny or even Liverpool are where we aim to fly from these days.

We use Manchester quite a bit as flights to where we want to go go from there. At most airports with special assistance (wheelchairs etc) you get through security in no time at all as you have dedicated lanes.....not Manchester. You just get sent to the shortest queue which can still take nearly a hour at busy times.

If you think Manchesters bad though then don't try Luton ;)

I fly to Hamburg about 10 times a year. From Manchester it takes just over an hour and costs about 50 quid return. There aren't any direct flights from Donny, L***s/Bradford or East Midlands. The flights that are available cost between £250 and £700 return and take an entire day to get there. I could get there quicker by car in some cases.

As crap as Manchester is, I don't have any other realistic option.

Manchester baggage trolleys used to be a quid, probably 2 now. It was crap coming back with a pocket of Brazilian money, but no quid chunks for the trolleys!

They’d charge you to breath there if they could get away with it!

    Best airport I’ve been to.

    1 it’s in Yorkshire.
    2) its car park is just outside.
    3) it’s not stupidly big
    4) there’s a Wetherspoons with Wetherspoon prices. Tell me another airport where you can get a pint and a burger for a fiver!

That makes a refreshing change. Had 3 pints and a toasted sandwich at Manchester Airport. Cost over £25.

Would have been cheaper to get one of them Escape Lounges and filled hand luggage with cans for the flight ;) Especially as airlines charge €5 for a small can of beer.
