    Conan is right. The same players who were poor in the championship are being offered new contracts after a few good games in the Mickey Mouse league. In the case of Hedges he's not fit long enough to even do that. Are we to believe one season in division three is going to make them so much better for their next chance at championship level? I'm quite shocked and flabergasted contracts are being dished out so soon.

    Cavaré, Lindsay, Pinnock, Dougall, Potts and Moore can cut it - the rest I am not so sure about!

    Right now I’d be offering contracts to Jacob Brown, Alex Mowatt and Cavare. The rest for me as it stands can leave.

    What about those contracts that expire the year after would you be tempted to try tie any of them down to a longer deal? (Thiam, Potts, Dougall, Mcgeehan, Lindsay, Pinnock, Pinillos, Isgrove, Bird, Adeboyejo)

    Realistically If I’m looking at our strongest 11 this year then next year to compete I’d want in Lindsay, Pinnock, Dougall, Moore.

    I’m only naming them four because they’re the only ones I’d definitely have. The rest are either flat out no or undecided.

    I'm not sure about Potts and Moore. That's in no way criticising them for how they've played this season, they've been great, but I'm not sure about The Championship.

    Cavare looks like he should be able to but last year he was a disaster.

    Lindsay, Pinnock and Dougall look the part but I'm still not sure.

    I loved the 96-97 promotion team. ******* loved them. If we'd managed to stay up in the Premier League and all that promotion side were out of contract, who would I have offered a new contract to? De Zeuuw and Redfearn and maybe Moses and Bullock.

    I was only referring to players whose contracts are due to expire in the next twelve months but of the entire squad Dougall is the only one I would like to keep. First ones out of the door - Moncur, Isgrove, Thiam, McGeehan.

    Got to agree with that. If we can find a team to give us half what we paid for Thiam then we’ve done well. I reckon someone will reimburse us for Mcgeehan though as he’s only young and might still have the reputation he arrived with elsewhere. The other two will probably just go out of contract.
