Good question For me, generally speaking, back 4 is ok, though no strength in depth beyond the back 4 so we'd need back ups there at least. Cavare especially would be good enough. Pinillos has impressed so far and Pinnock and Lindsay I believe are forming a great partnership Dougall hasn't played enough games, yet, but I think he'd be fine in the championship. Mowatt was poor for us at that level before but was very impressive for Leeds at times has started very well for us at this level. Still think Potts has something to offer. Regular in the championship though? Probably not Moore would be good enough Beyond those, I'm not sure many others are at the required level, but another season together this time around, they'll no doubt grow as a team and as individuals and who knows
Several of them. quite a few of the last lot of players were not instant hits but improved significantly after a season or 2 if we can get this group playing with confidence several of them are well capable of Championship football. Don’t forget we threw together a basically young team last season and they weren’t really helped with last seasons shenanigans I think had we appointed Stendel when Hecky went instead of the clown we went for we would still be in the Championship now
People have the wrong impression of me. I hope every player we sign is a success. If they're not I'm more than comfortable saying what I think. Moncur has some talent but application is sadly lacking. Isgrove has spent six years stealing a living. I think McGeehan's injury has left psychological wounds. As for Thiam - words fail me. The lad has never heard of football I'm sure of it.
Which ones are capable of Championship football? Please keep in mind they got 41 points from 46 games last season.
I think if we go with this squad in The Championship we'll be relegated again. We scare the sh*t out of a lot of teams in this league. We're bigger and stronger and faster and very impressive. But we're none of those things in The Championship. We have no physical advantage in The Championship and an obvious skill shortage. Although I do think we're getting ahead of ourselves. Unlike many others, I don't think promotion this season is nailed on. There are many players in this team I'd like playing for us in League 1.
Nobody knows. That’s why it’s fun. Especially those in this thread who suggested this squad could be relegated this season. They might be right on that. We are only seven games in. Owt could happen. Again, nobody knows. It’s the joy of forums. Of fan opinions. I’m really pleased to see us unbeaten so far.
A fan, that's all he ever does. He never makes official club statements. We're allowed to take the piss out of Whitey but calling out his integrity isn't valid.
Don't listen to me, I know nowt. And I've told you before I actually agree with you, just not necessarily the way you frame your arguments. More people agree with you than you know, but they also know the futility of putting forward that opinion.
I would have “got rid” of the last promotion squad at this time of the year... and look what happened to those players! My question would have to be, are they growing into good players/team? Are the young players progressing? Don’t forget the spreadsheet!
Cavare and Pinnilos I can't see as championship quality as they are too slow and don't ever overlap like Adie White used to do for example with Adam Hammill. Lindsay and especially Pinnock have made plenty of mistakes already this season and Jackson can't be far off a chance. Dougall should be good enough but too early to tell. Mowatt is struggling for goals even in this league.
Reyt then, let's go back to front. Davies - good enough I reckon. Had his low points last season but still young for a keeper and decent overall. Cavare - good going forward and defending. Mad as a box of frogs but he's 23. I was a knobhead at that age as well, he's definitely a keeper. Pinnock - absolute rolls royce this season. Can definitely step up. Lindsay - slightly less of a rolls royce but still classy as ****. He'll do as well. Pinillos. Good start but unconvincing last year. Jury's out. Dougall - like Jacob Burns but class on the ball. Should be playing in the championship and probably will be in January if we aren't in the top 2. Mowatt - I thought he was done at tarn but he's bossing it this season. Potentially the new Hourihane but could still fall away. Potts - an absolute ******* unit. So strong on the ball, and will only improve. I honestly think he's great. Like the t rex from Jurassic Park. I get ripples in my bovril when he hits his stride. Thiam - honestly, **** knows. Can't form an opinion as he's so inconsistent. Moore - mint this season. Works his ******** off. I really like him but he didn't score as many as he should have last season. Was it a service issue? Maybe. Jury's out as a championship striker.
Moncur - great in patches, but the stamina of Johnny Vegas. If I was mint at my job but couldn't work past half 2 in the afternoon I'm pretty sure I'd get sacked. Also not sure which gets used less - Moncur's left foot or Pinillos' right foot Adeboyejo - looks alreyt, nothing more so far but his goals to minutes is stellar so I'm not going to say owt. Isgrove - I'd back my nan to manage more minutes over a season and she's been dead 10 years
I think it’s the opposite. Apart from a couple of games last season and Oxford this season he’s been incredibly consistent and that’s why I’d sell him.
Can someone with more time in their lives find the post where I said this? Because I refute that. I may well be one of the clapping happily fraternity, granted, but I can’t recall me ever stating that. And that’s a huge nibble, Jay. Didn’t even name you, but you were straight in. Love you. X
