1 of those it seems was brought in injured and 2 were injured at the start of the season. We were a striker short before we sold Bradshaw and both our wide men were injured before the season started. If for example Moore were to get injured now we would have a serious problem.
Izzy and Hedges were both featuring pre season and I assume the management team believed they wouldn't be out long enough to justify bringing in replacements
They must have known how long Hedges was likely to be out. And every single Barnsley fan could have predicted the Isgrove situation. As you say maybe they thought otherwise and that was clearly a mistake. As i also believe the lack of options up top is.
The problem is they’re both picking up a wage. If you sign someone to cover both of them then you’re paying extra wages that we probably can’t afford. Then when Hedges & Isgrove are back fit you’ve got 5 or 6 widemen with up to 3 not making the squad who all have to be paid
I get your point but in my eyes we have 2 wide players at the club right now and they are both injured.
Isgrove was on the bench against Walsall & personally I was disappointed that he did not get on , thought he was tailor made to replace Thiam for the last 20 mins .
Probably. Imagine if everyone was fit and we could play 442. Woodrow up front with Moore. Isgrove/Hedges on the flanks. Two of Bahre/Doughal/Potts in the centre. I think our CBs have been shakey for the past five games or so, so I wouldn't be against giving Jackson a start either.
I assume he would have been put through his paces in training before naming him on the bench , so hopefully yes ,but there is only one real way of finding out & that is to give him a go .
I'd really like to know how close Isgrove, Hedges and Woodrow are to full fitness because I agree that with these three available it would give us some fantastic options. Sadly I'm not convinced we'll see all three very often this season; I hope I'm wrong but I have no confidence that Isgrove will manage a good long run of games.
