At the start of the season I had an across the board accumulator on the winners of all the four divisions. I put a tenner on Man City, West Brom, Barnsley and Lincoln. If it pops I would win £9000. Unusually for me the bet is doing well and I am thinking of cashing in now for a profit of approx £115. The bet is on Betfair and there is, for this type of bet, no function to partly cash in or I would do. Do I cash in and take a tidy £115 or wait a bit longer? West Brom do let goals in and barnsley look like they have about 3-4 competitors...
At the end of the day, 150 quid is a couple of nights out. Nine grand is a massive chunk of your mortgage paid off. or a couple of absolutely awesome holidays.
Cash it. I don't think West Brom will win their league. Both Leeds and Middlesbrough will finish above them.
This is how I would see it, depends how much you could use the money now. If you are ok finically I'd let it ride now. £115 will likely disappear into your account and you won't really see the benefit.
Way too early mate. Unless you desperately need the money. Choices 1. Lose a tenner. 2. take £165. 3. You’ll kick yourself massively if you get a lot nearer to the £9000. Hope this is of help.
Hold your nerve, Posh and Donny will inevitably fall away leaving us and Pompey to fight it out for the other automatic spot whilst Sunderland have romped away with it.
Flippin’ eck. You’d be absolutely mental to cash that in at this point. 3 teams top of their respective leagues and 160 quid is pocket change against the potential earnings.
Speaking from experience... I cashed out a £44,000 accumulator.. for £1500. It pains me till this day. If you don’t need the £150, don’t even consider cashing it out.
How on earth did you manage to get 900 to 1 with those selections ? It must have been a very generous bookmaker . Hold your nerve & good luck
Take the profit. Always remember that for West Brom, Barnsley and Lincoln, they'd be happy enough with second place as it still means automatic promotion. But that would lose your bet. The situation may not look so rosy again at any point in the season. The risk is that they would all prosper and the bet would have come off. But that is utterly irrelevant once you've cashed in. Take £95 profit and move on to the next opportunity. Greed is a bad advisor. At the moment you are in control. If any of the four falter, you are not.
This is my view too. The profit is real. The nine grand is not. It's like a game of Deal or No Deal with all the boxes unopened.
DONT CASH OUT! A couple of hundred quid doesn’t go so far but 9k does it cost you a tenner so forget about it for now. Just a heads up in future if you do these types of bets instead of lumping £10 on put 5 lots of £2 on instead that way if you want to cash a 20%,40% at any point in the season you have the flexibility to make a profit and leave a proportion of the bed to run till the end. Personally I put a few on at start of season on an account I don’t use n forget about them till the season end.
Id cash out and invest a small amount back into laying on the same bet. Im guessing the return will no longer be 9k but will be decent enough? Personally not convinced us or WBA will finish top but reckon both will be within top 4.
At first I thought that this was a clumsy and thinly veiled advert for betfair but I see that you’re a very prolific and active member of the forum. I apologise for being initially cynical but your question seemed a little pointless given the skill that you’ve shown to get this far with your bet. Anyway I’m sure that you’re able to make the correct decision especially given your own knowledge and those of the others who’ve posted. The very best of luck.
N Not really though is it. If I had ,£50,000 £100,000. And £250,000 boxes left unopened I’d cash in . But if I had £100. £500 or £25000 left unopened. No brainer for me take the risk. I know £500 can be a lot to some. But for £10. the bet was on an accumulator. How many have wished the three horse single bet wins had been accumulated. I’m not advocating not cashing in a all. Probably I’d cash in when a substantial amount was forthcoming. A lot of Leicester fans panicked and cashed in. Watford red says it all.
How can anyone say "so-and-so will inevitably fall away" so early in the season? It's like saying we were certain to go down at Christmas in the promotion season.
