He concerns me how at times he seems to either give up or switch off. The last 10 minutes he was completely awol at right back and didn't make much effort at all to get back in when Plymouth had the ball. Generally he's got a decent engine, but he's being targeted more and more as the side to attack down. And those 2 balls were good, but then that's all he kept doing even when the runs were elsewhere. The biggest steps for him are attitude and awareness. if he can develop that part, we have a decent league 1 player, if not, we have M'Voto's full back twin, a cult figure liability.
Same here. Not really sure if that justifies getting rid of the entire squad and starting again though?
They won't be good enough for the level above so we need to start improving the squad at the earliest opportunity.
I can remember the squad of 16/17 being labelled as such . Some are good enough some need competition and some need to go . But to to say all or most is rather drastic imo
I reckon if we got promoted we would have to replace 3/4 of the squad Goalkeeper, every full back, at least one of the centre backs, every winger, around half of the midfielders and all but one striker.
Totally different scenarios. Those players that got us up didn't already have a championship relegation on their CV, so deserved a chance. These lot have proved they aren't championship quality and a season in this league won't change that. We've got one proven striker, not one full back with pace, numerous injury prone players and a lack of goals coming from midfield. If they do get us promoted, little will change.
The season is still early, give it time. As has been pointed out, our last group of players a lot of posters on here were saying they weren’t good enough for League 2 at Christmas that season. Suddenly we’re in the championship needing to offer them all 72 year contracts it seems. Give these lads a chance to develop this season.
Big difference between the two squads. One was untried at championship level, the other was an epic failure at that level. Its a sad situation we're in that a lot of our players only kept their job because they failed. Had they scraped to survival they would not be at oakwell now. Again only an opinion.
But some were saying they didn’t deserve a chance . When Altrincgam knocked us out of the cup most were condemning them as not fit for non league . When we got promotion only two or three went and imo that’s what will happen if we get promo with this team.
Then I'm extremely worried about the long term future of the club. League one sadly is probably our level.
that was because of a bad decision in the managerial dept . The squad that we had were just out of school compared to other squads we had . We had fans blaming morais
That's not bad decisions in the managerial department that is the entire foundation of our recruitment policy. Worrying isn't it. I feel that Jose didn't help himself but that he had an impossible task with the squad he was given and I think he knew it too
An impossible task with his tactics imo it wasn’t the best squad but there were teams that benefitted in the championship with his appointment unfortunately we weren’t one of them
