How much longer will this inquest go on? Will the next transfer window see the end of it? For better or worse Bradshaw’s gone and ain’t coming back Ps I think we’re missing Glavin
In all likelihood the next transfer window will probably see the conversation switch to bemoaning the loss of the next player vital to the team. I have reached the point where I loathe transfer / loan windows. Nothing good ever comes of them.
Jay made the point when Bradshaw left, that we miss his work rate - he kept the opposition back 4 busy and space was created elsewhere. As it stands if Moore isn't bang on his game (as per last night) then we struggle. Unfortunate last night also that 4 or 5 others had poor games, especially in the spell in the first half where it looked like we'd never played football before. Despite all that we could have had the game sewn up after about 70 minutes. Bradshaw working his socks off was a big part of how we set off this season, when Woodrow's fit it'll be interesting to see how he slots into our system.
I'm told Woodrow's main asset is his pace....which we are lacking in spades at the moment. I'm sure this coach will help him with the pressing...oh and supposed to be a half decent finisher too....which we are also lacking. Just need him playing.
I agree...I stated a bit a go ....I want to see us when we have our full compliment of players out...somebody is going to get it!
Before Bradshaw was transferred I came on here making a case that it was total madness to move him on & I was given a hard time by some who were more than happy for him to go , which is fine , we all have our views but I maintain it was crazy , he suits our style of play & had a good record in this league . In my opinion , he was under contract & our player & any decision on his future could have been put on hold until january, when we would have a clearer picture of where we are in terms of a promotion push . Ideally , we needed to keep Bradshaw & bring in another striker to support him & Moore .
Woodrow, Woodrow, come out where ever you are. 2 weeks out? Seems longer. I pray that you are everything I dreamed of, a cross between Brendan O'Connell & Brian Joicey.
Are we **** were missing david currie john hendrie wardy shipperley dyer john McDonald even john deehan. Wouldn't pay bradshaw in bottle tops
We weren’t missing any of those in the first few games in August. If you want to think Bradshaw leaving isn’t a key reason for our form dropping, your call. But the evidence is quite compelling.
I would dread to think what some would be like if we were nearer bottom of league rather then where we are, and IF we win our game in hand would be 3rd.
To be fair I'm not sure the evidence is that compelling. Based on a tiny sample of 12 games, points per game with tom = 2 and points per game without him = 1.7. Considering the vast amount of variables contributing to a football result, I don't think we can attribute the majority of the blame to Bradshaw leaving. I believe we would have done slightly better if he stayed because he plays a big role in the pressing game. However, I also believe there are a number of other factors: e.g. (players being over confident (see Scunthorpe and Plymouth) and missing big chances (see Walsall and Coventry)), which have also been a factor in some of our results. Not sure Bradshaw would've impacted upon either of these issues.
I think that's a decent point, but to counter that we also played poor against Blackpool and Wimbledon when Bradshaw was here. Perhaps our two worst performances. I think the main issues are the attitude of the players after we go ahead and the ability to finish off chances. Not the lack of Tom's work ethic. Although as I have admitted I think that is a contributory cause. Just not the main one.
