just watched "Day Dream Believers".... left me in a complete mess... tears are not the half of it. The Film really does capture the whole roller coaster of emotions felt during the promotion to the Premiere league and the anguish of the premiere season... I was left emotionally wrecked... I am so glad I attended it all... Will never forget it ever, and it shows just what a very special club Barnsley truly is.... and the folk of Tarn and the area, made me burst with pride.... Dyson you and your associates have done the area proud.... thank you Sir from my heart totally.
just have to add...... I hope Stendel has been given a copy to sit down and watch with our present squad.... it should inspire them for the rest of the season.
thanks matey.... If that does not give them drive and inspiration then nowt will...... I think the squad have it, but the DVD should instill it further. It will show them just how much Barnsley folk love this team and how much it bonds many many of them too....no matter where in this world you have ended up..... I Totally loved it.
What I love and what will come through especially to anyone not a Barnsley fan who is watching it, is that those player interviews have a very northern/Barnsley accent on them, it's obvious that this was very much a homegrown team with a few exceptions. This was not a team of bought in superstars. Bravo film makers.
Watched it last night with my boy who was 2 at the time. He`s a fanatic now - for his sake I`d love it to happen again. It couldn`t could it?
Any chance it might make its way onto Blu-Ray? Standard DVDs look sh*te on large screen TVs. If available what would be the shipping costs to EU?
It's very obvious everyone we spoke to be it the lads from the youth team to our foreign imports got the place & enjoyed their time here. A genuine pleasure to speak to every single one of them.
On the subject of downloading the film, will it be available for permanent download, so it can subsequently be saved and watched offline? Or is it only available for streaming?
when I went to the Vimeo site it said I owned the title, so I am guessing I can watch it over again as long as I want....but will still be happy to receive my DVD hard copy too.
Bit disappointed about the size of this huge message. Reminds me of a fisherman. Or the downhearted look on a female friend's face after her new boyfriend failed to meet expectations. Again.
A couple of weeks ago, my middle son handed me a gift. Like myself, he's been a supporter of the Reds since we moved this way from Donny in 1987. It turned out, that it was the video " Day Dream Believers" which he'd bought for me from the Clubs shop. Yesterday I was home on my own, so I took the opportunity to watch it. I honestly didn't think it could possibly be as good as it was, so massive thanks together my compliments go to Dyson and his team for such a great production. It evoked so many memories, some good and some bad. At the time of the strike, a lot of lads I had grown up with worked at our local pit, Hatfield Main and were involved as pickets and many of them were at Orgreave. As for the main footage and the games leading to our promotion and our solitary season in the Premiership, I loved every single minute. I thought we were so unlucky not to have stayed up, but our lads gave it a good go. Definitely a video, that I will have the pleasure in watching over and over again in the future.
