Very complementary and wary for next week http://intothevalley.proboards.com/thread/22964/barnsley-luton
I think we have won our last three games there. There was a 3-1, 1-0 and a 2-1.The latter had Kennedy scoring the winner so was rather special.
I can, it was one of those games where everything they hit went into the net. We didn’t play too badly on the scale of the score line I seem to remember too.
It was a really odd game , we were on a decent run and expected to win as Charlton were struggling themselves, but like someone said earlier everything they hit went in . It was a bit surreal at the end of the game , no booing , no histrionics just a shrugging of the shoulders thinking what the hell was all that about .
I remember our fans just singing don’t worry about a thing, very strange game and the atmosphere was great in the home ends still.
I remember Ron Futchur once scoring a first half hatrick at the Valley to put us 3 v 0 up by half time, by which time he also managed to get sent off , we then ended up losing 5 v 3 !
I've just looked back at the match report , we'd won 7 matches out of 8 but still a point from safety . Bloody mental league that year .
Aye, March ‘85. 2 days later we won at Southampton in the 5th round of the cup. Reight day/night out.
Kennedy and Mvoto the scorers that day, the most unlikely thing ever! What a time to be alive and at the game!
I remember us winning 3-0 or 3-1 there about 2010ish, Darren Moore with a blistering brace. Most unlikely thing ever
