The first I agree with. The third goal the set up for the corner and the centre backs were just as easy to blame as Davies
Don't think Davies can be blamed for the third, but I agree more competition is required in the goalkeeping department.
So from reading this forum we need a new goalkeeper, big investment in January, the fans need a free ticket to Notts county anything else. The players are only human go again Saturday take the captain responsibility off Davies.
Davies has played really well this season, but one thing that was certain was that the first time he made an error what cost a goal , then the knives would be out for him. Talk about short memories , a couple of weeks ago at Peterboro ,with the game scoreless, he pulls off a penalty save which played a massive part in us going on to get three points yet it was only a matter of time before fans turn on him . It appears everyone else can make mistakes & can get away with it ,but for some reason Davies always gets it . Like I said earlier , short memories , makes me sick to be honest .
OK, Maybe a bit harsh - but he does need to be much more positive and physical with crosses because he will be targeted. No problem with his shot stopping or his general commitment. I really hope this is not the start of another decline in his confidence.
Every season we have a scapegoat, its just the natural thing. Davies isnt Peter Schmeichel but I can see why he's the captain cos he's like Stephen Foster, as professional as they come. I'd still rather it be Mowatt or Lindsay though.
Bit overly dramatic. Only one individual as far as I can see suggesting he may need dropping and a suggestion by myself that we need more competition.... Much worse criticism has been aimed at Moncur, Thiam, McGeehan and Williams this season.
every team we have played as a keeper who,can catch the ball,Davis trying to catch and then changing to a punch last night in 1st half was shocking, how he got away with it was just luck
He was barely reaching that ball and had to punch it. Didn’t help matters that he was coming through a crowd of bodies to get to it as well so punching it was the right choice.
It is the key aspect of his game that the coaches need to work on. He is not naturally aggressive or physical so it will need a lot of work. If he can fix it he could be a top class keeper.
He's quite experienced for a young keeper but he is not progressing. If anything is going backwards. I thought he was poor last season and he hasn't looked any better this. He has just had less to do. One penalty save doesn't change that. I wouldn't want us to offer him a new contract but if we do it would be as a number two.
