When their player went down injured they had 6 or 7 players all surrounding the ref for a good few minutes (longer than the pathetic three he added on) and they were having a right old moan and influences and our eunuchs all hid and kept away letting their players influence the referee for the rest of the match. Grow some ******** and get stuck in amongst them. It's not a kids tea party
I mean, I hate when players are *****, but if Thiam was a ****, their player would have been sent off.
Poor ref. Not helped by the way their players were allowed to conduct themselves Completely agree about Thiam. Our young team need some experience amongst them who knows the uglier side of the game. A goalkeeper as captain doesn't work. When the opposition players surround the ref a goalkeeper can't get in amongst it so the ref only hears one side
Think they were having a moan that they should of had a free kick didn't work as the ref gave a drop ball. Influencing the ref didn't get them any points at all. I agree thiam could of made a meal of that incident but it's not mice to see a grown man rolling about faking a injury trying to get the next man sent off. The ref was very poor the linesman were just as poor if not worse.

I thought the rules now only allow the team captain to approach the ref, crowding’s not allowed but to stop it would have needed action by the ref.
Yeah we regained possession straight from the drop ball forgot it was challenged. Maybe if the ref actually got control of the game from the go instead of letting players crowd around him, letting players time waste for 87 minutes and letting the lad fake injury he stayed down for about 5 minutes physio on and everything then ran almost straight back on it was a good spell in the 1st half for us a obvious attempt to break our rhythm up.
The ref has no power to make a drop ball unchallenged, it’s not in the laws of the game, opposition players can choose not to challenge if the other side have said they’ll give it back. A ref can’t force that - he actually did try to get them to play it back. I prefer a proper drop ball tbh. Get on with it. He was garbage though, though most in this league are.
Hourihane rolls around on the floor and gets a man sent off. This forum explodes in a frenzy of fake outrage and self indignant boll0cks. can’t have it all ways.
If Thiam had have gone down like their player did with the altercation with Cavare I’ve no doubt he’d have been off. Is it just a bit of streetwise or “twattiness” we need? In relation to this, anyone see Ryan Hedges steal almost half the pitch with that throw in near the end that went out at the corner flag and he ended up taking it not far from the dugout? He seems good at that and I can’t really think of anyone else in our team that does it. Too honest.
Disagree ST let the ref get on wi it cos it`ll only end up wi us gerrin more yellows, would rather see us do ar talking wit football.
Talking to one of the Southend supporters after the game he said they'd had the same ref a few weeks ago and he'd sent two of their players off. Even he thought the ref was bending over backwards to ingratiate himself with the Southend players this time round.
He wasn't getting on with it though. He was stood listening to all their complaints for minutes and all it needed was for one of our players to go over there and he would have ushered them all away. I'm not saying we should cheat or dive or anything just that we should grow a pair and stop letting other teams cheat.
