Absolutely Turgid Yesterday

All those many many many 6 games ago, although I thought we played rather well against Luton as well 5 games ago. Would agree the last 4 were poor. Although I wasn’t at Charlton. Just pleased we got 6 points from 4 poor games. But I’m a beige, white knight happy clapper.

I blame January 2017 for the last 4 games.

I agree about yesterday, well for parts of the game at least, but I'm not concerned that yesterday is the football template of choice for Stendel.

I don't agree about the players, plural, becoming a laughing stock if we are promoted back to the championship. We were very critical, pre Xmas, about our last league one team but they developed and became a very useful championship team. I don't dispute that we will need some new players, perhaps even a tweak of the plan, but I feel that we have some players who have the potential to hold their own at the next level.

I don't think they are fair comparisons though. That last team had good players who are nearly all playing the Championship or higher. They were just poorly managed.

This group of players have already had a go in the Championship and were an abject failure. I don't see things being different second time around.

 

I get your point about the conman but I still think the likes of Conor and Roberts were getting written off. The whole team was abject last season but most of the team that went down had little experience of championship football prior to the season starting and had to endure part of the season under another conman, bereft of confidence and leadership. All that said we weren't far away from survival and having another shot at it.

We definitely need to improve areas of the team but I'm not sure it needs to be wholesale.

 

But do you not think it was difficult last season for players like brad potts,mcgheen to jump up 2 divisions and pinnock 3 divisions Lindsay came from spl which imo bar two or 3 teams is no better than league one. We spent from January when Conor was sold to when hecky left playing 451 with Bradshaw chasing shadows. You can't pin the blame on all the players I don't think Conor could of gone from Plymouth to the championship he was a fraction of the player we developed when he first came.

 

I’m not going through the many, many negative threads that you’ve created where I’ve put my different opinion to yours to find the posts because I can’t be arsed, I’d be here until next week going through them all.

I’ve seen so many different posters reply to your threads with a differing opinion and yet you still keep creating the same threads with the same negativity.

I mean this one mentions about our team struggling last season in the championship so that must mean your next thread will be bashing Thiam or Cryne right?

I can understand people see certain things more negatively than others. I mean, we aren’t top of the league so clearly there must be things that we can improve on but it’s the fact that you have however many thousands of posts that you have and yet I don’t ever recall seeing a single positive one (obviously I won’t have read all of your posts). Just need some balance every once in a while.

 

Very difficult. Nigh on impossible in fact, which is why I was concerned about relegation from day one. However, just hoping that giving these players time and they will come good doesn't work for me. I just don't see any Championship standard players in this squad I'm afraid.

 

We were fortunate to get all the points. I thought it was only a matter of time before they fluffed another cross onto the post to fall perfectly for their lump to knock in. If they had played another 20 or 30 matches I reckon they might just have scored another one like that. We were the lucky team to scrape a win though. Alternatively they were bloody lucky to finish within 1 goal of us. Depends on how you look at games.

That's your opinion and I do respect that the players I think have the quality to develop into championship players are Lindsay pinnock mowatt Potts and moore. Lindsay mowatt and Potts are still only 23. I'd happily put money on that at least 3 of those 5 will play in the championship again in their career with or without us.

 

Can’t blame the new owners yet. We have a good 3-4 years of blaming the old owners still I reckon. It’s funny. I love his posts though. Proper cheer me up when we lose and make me smile even more when we’ve won. People just need to enjoy them more!
