    Why not, do we count the under 23’s as the academy? he played for our under 23’s and therefore developed in the academy if we are calling it that

    I don't count under 23s as the academy, no. Always took the academy to mean youth football up to the age of 18. After that players are adults and under 23s seems more like a reserve side than an academy side.

    I’d definatly see it as a development squad, agreed academy is pushing it a bit in some cases but since the demise of reserve teams, and if I had to choose in or out it’s a part of the academy for me
