Woodrow has to play to get his match fitness up to speed. Perfect type of match, we know they are not going to to be cloggers. Plus you cannot go into games, wrapping players up in cotton wool, just in case they might get injured.
He’s no more one footed than Alex Mowatt to be fair. I’m not sure he’ll be any good as a defensive cm. But Dougall is out, McGeehan isn’t brilliant there and I certainly would not play him in this tournament anyway as we’ve little other option until Dougall is back. Both Fryers and Ben Williams need game time, you can’t play both at left back and Fryers could do a decent job there, you never know. Certainly worth a look in a game which in the true course of things doesn’t matter so much.
Id play Woodrow but not from the start - Id be looking to bring him on second half personally - though if the coaching staff want to start him I am OK with it - will just be a bit surprised
I think the next 3 games are ideal for Woodrow to feature and build match fitness. If he's going to get injured again, it'll happen, regardless of whether it be cup, league or training. Needs match time.
This^^but I'd play Lindsay and rest pinnock as pinnock has started every game this season. Play jordan Williams before cavare too but not sure how many changes we can make.
Id stick Woodrow in goal, even give Stendel a run out too. two fingers up to the F.A for killing this competition.
Want to see either Walton or one of the young keepers get a go plus starts for J Williams, Jackson, Fryers, Bird, Hedges & Woodrow. Don’t really mind whether Brown or Adeboyejo partners Woodrow & don’t mind who fills up the rest of the starting 11
Yes, both things I considered. I guess there will be subs as well. Is it still 3 for this tournament?
