Been a while since I did a music thread. Anything loosely related welcome. Let's keep it tasteful though! About December 1914, not 1918 & a fairly obvious choice. I saw them play in Leeds at this time & it was a great atmosphere. Nearly the entire crowd on stage for a cover of "Police & Thieves" at the end. The sample of Pachebel's Canon was a work of genius, & whether you like the band that much or not it epitomised the "baggy" era.
Have put it here sir, as some folks will be too young to remember it. It is well written & arranged, as you would expect. Definitely welcome!
Absolute masterpiece that whole LP. Zombies moved from an R&B band into creators of psych & prog. Nice one that, hell.
I think you know where I stand on this subject. The bass player from this band ran a vegan restaurant a few doors up from my old record shop in Leeds. Brilliant. This is a good playlist so far.
And the band played waltzing matilda Ewan Bogle (only heard the Pogues version though on Rum Sodomy and the Lash)
when you are listening to this wonderful music,,,, keep watching the back screens... its very very moving
Sublime. A band called "Public Service Broadcasting" would be proud of that. They are really rather good as well.
