Agree! That was the whole point of my post..Did you read the last sentence.? ......."So in reality, public school affiliations are little different to trade union affiliations when it comes to getting a seat at the high table.
One of the elements from the document May is trying to get through Parliament is a Pension Clause. The UK must promise never to tax former EU officials based here - such as Peter Mandelson or Neil Kinnock - on their EU pensions, or tax any current Brussels bureaucrats on their salaries.the EU and its employees are to be immune from our tax laws (Article 104) Furthermore the UK agrees not to prosecute EU employees who are, or who might be deemed in future, criminals (Art. 101) Very interesting that it protects those in wealthy positions. The entire document (obviously written by the EU) stinks.
I would imagine it would be a good thing for the UK, however that's just my opinion given on a footy forum, I am sure there are people who are more educated/ political who are well above my pay grade who will know if it's a good or bad thing, only time will tell
your first two examples are prior to england forming a democracy, when we were ruled by monarchs who were nothing short of dictators, things have come along since then and the man in the street now has a say in things, like voting for brexit.
even when its clear mp's are going against the wishes of their constituants?..some of the highest percentages to leave were in labour held areas who have mp's who think exactly the opposite, aye, let those mp's vote against the wishes of the people, that will do democracy a world of good, you'll then be wondering why the fcukin BNP and UKIP will be on the rise again.
Not sure it's fake news but article 101 in the EU's own draft from earlier in the year said. Immunity of members of the European Parliament — Article 101, Page 59 What it says: “[Existing rights to immunity from prosecution] shall apply in the United Kingdom in respect of opinions expressed or votes cast by members of the European Parliament, irrespective of their nationality, including former members, in the performance of their duties before the end of the transition period.”
Don't really see what you've got against UKIP. They were formed to get UK out of the EU and to give a voice to the xenophobic rump of the country. Get one you get the other.
i think you need to read again what i put, dismiss the wishes of the public and you'll give rise to these parties. btw,not all leave voters are xenophobes,so cut that fckin **** out.
These parties reflected the wishes of a great many voters unfortunately and I'd argue that the bulk of Ukip voters are/were pretty xenophobic. Not to mention their Councillors who were repeatedly getting caught out making racist comments.
That's an argument I've not been following so I can't comment. I find it as bizarre to be anti semitic as any other form of xenophobia. I don't think it had a significant impact on the brexit vote though.
when do antisemtic comments not become racist from the red side of the house. surley antisematism and islamophobia are 2 sides of the same coin
Nobody has said that isnt the caee. All anyone has said is that islamophobia was quite a considerable factor in the referendum whilst antisematism wasnt anywhere near as much a factor.
councellors getting caught using racist remarks I think was mentioned, I just wondered why antisematism wasn't classed as racism
what you mean is you think ukip voters are xenophobic because it suits you,i've voted ukip in the eu elections, not because i am xenophobic or any other phobic you care to mention,i voted for them because after being promised a referendum by tony blair in 1997(after being promised and denied one by the tories after they signed the treaty) and labour then completely back tracking on their promise,i was then left with no option as any of the main parties were just spinning me a porkie to try and get elected and i knew ukip's sole aim was to get out of europe so at least they could be trusted on the issue..xenephobia has never come into it,i have always been against a political european union...had the greedy basterds in the eu remained as the common market then there would never have been a cause for a referendum but instead they went onto form a european parliament that non of us asked for or indeed were told was going to happen.Successive governments used the promise of a referendum to gain votes(major did it and so did blair),they all knew there was deep seated resentment about what europe had morphed into and deep down they were all aware that the chances were we'd kick it into touch and thats why they never gave us the chance to do so,the along comes cameron and gambles on the stats that a lot of voters were still in nappies when mastreicht and lisbon was dreamt up and knew no different, thinking everything we currently enjoy in life is a direct result of the eu,..oh dear how wrong he was,the vote went in favour of leave, tut tut. you single ukip and racist comments, yet it looks like labour are under investigation,by the met no less because theres ample evidence of antisemitism, even one of their own,mrs hodge, say its rife within
