https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-46261574 Going from bad to worse for this guy. Such a shame
I know what you mean but when I read a story like this I have sympathy for the woman he inappropriately touched, not the guy who did the touching, no matter how famous he might be.
He hasn't been found guilty yet but if he does i will have no sympathy for him. He clearly has serious issues but he has been offered a lot of help but doesn't seem to be getting any better. It is shame to see him as he is now.
That's it. Can't believe how many people still care about him when you look at his shady past. Folks blinded by his football ability so treat him differently to if a member of Joe public had done the same.
I have no sympathy at all. If he's done it then he deserves what he gets. What I'm saying is, he was once a legend.. now he's nothing. Sometimes fame ruins you
Definite case of mental health issues, but it's not an excuse. If found guilty he needs mental health care and a just sentence.
Should be an object lesson in how clubs treat players, once described as "a daft lad" and a "Character" his clubs knew about his drinking and unbalanced behavior but were happy to allow him to be a figure of fun while his ability covered for his obvious issues..once he could no longer sustain his performances they were all too ready to let him sink and be left to the mercy of the British press who adopted the ,build em up to knock em down, mantra so often seen. Many players like him and Best and others who admit to issues after their careers are over should be held up as examples of how not to allow this to happen DURING their playing careers. hopefully issues like this one with Gascoine could be avoided by acting early in their football lives. Sorry but if he has done it he should be treated like everyone else.
Agree with this. The people saying he should know the difference between right and wrong are slightly ignorant, mental health ***** the brain. He needs help, the very best help too.
He's not short of money though, is he? He could have paid for a lot of help down the years but his preferred sort of help comes in a pint glass. Gascoigne's been a mess for years and has never bothered to sort himself out. I bet if some pervert was sexually abusing people in Darfield your gut instinct wouldn't be to feel sorry for them if they had mental health problems, unless they used to play for Rangers of course.
Actually I think that's a bit of a slur right there. Having mental health problems doesn't mean people can't stop themselves from sexually assaulting others. Rather insulting to suggest otherwise.
