I agree with you regarding the headlines. The two article headlines from what I have seen on bbc dont appear racist to me. It is as you say pointing out that players who havent even made an appearance can afford to buy 2.5m houses and it was tied to a talksport discussion about teenage footballers earning huge amounts before theyve hit the first XI. Foden has been used a lot as sub this season and is getting a name for himself. Never heard of the other guy. Cannot stick the daily mail whatsoever but i will give them the benefit of the doubt for this one. As for Brexit. I do think it has stirred up some racism but thats always been there. Its just come to the surface thats all.
Scholesisgod apologies for the way your post got taken over by the brexit debate, It's just that some people can't except the peoples vote, And are so desperate to get another one that when they hear the word racism they can't resist to blame it on brexit.
I disagree - there is nothing racist about reporting that a footballer (who happens to be black) 'on 25K splashing out on a mansion.' What is wrong with that?
Is now a good time to point out that the racist journalist who wrote a racist article about a black player is black?
Nothing in isolation - its the fact that the same news paper reported almost identical stories with different emphasis 2 ypung players bought houses for their mums - one buys his mum a house the other splashes out on a mansion - why the difference
Almost a year in time perhaps? The newspapers agenda had changed in the year. Even the black journalist who wrote the apparently racist article hasmsaid that at the time the general slant of articles was against the amount of money young player had. Fast forward a year and it wasnt
