Unbelievable that some are blaming Davies for the goal.

Mowatt gave the ball away. Moore could have had a hat trick. Woodrow should have had more than one. Brown was a waste of a sub. Could go on but point is Davies letting a goal in that wasn't his fault wasn't what cost us today.

The vendetta against Davies is embarrassing , the lad did absolutely nothing wrong today, in which conditions were shocking for all players, but especially for keepers . Only on here could an outfield player make gigantic gaff yet the goalie gets the blame, pathetic .

Mowatt ****** up, he’s had an excellent season, it’s a rare error from him. There’s no point dwelling on it or trying to blame others. Move on.

Yeah it shouldn't have mattered really as we should have scored more than one to secure the win

Davies is having a great season. I'm happy with him being our no1 again (I wasn't last season, as posts will have made clear).
For me today wasn't a time for dishing out too much blame for poor defending. Our finishing should have been a lot better & we would have been out of sight at half time.

The really good thing is how in the second half we ground out a result. We didn't play as well as we did in the first on the ball, but we were a lot better without it.

Disagree slightly. I thought Davies made one good save but other than that didn't do a lot right. Poor kicking and distribution and his decision to pass it short was stupid.
That said to actually blame him for the goal instead of mowatt is crazy. Mowatt was to blame for such a poor ball out. Davies may have made an initial bad decision that put us under pressure but that pressure had been dealt with till mowatt miskicked it.

Don't want to be too hard on mowatt either though as it was a bad kick rather than a bad decision (like cavare the other week). He tried to clear it just didn't kick it properly.

Back to the Davies issue, I definitely think we need to bring a keeper in in Januarymbut that doesn't mean Davies should leave. 2 good keepers pushing each other is what we need. Davies hasn't been the same since his competition left.

Stendel`s tactic for Davies to roll the ball square to whoever is there, its a wnak tactic, a feckin wnak tactic, a feckin stoopid wnak tactic and the fault lies at his door. Sort it art Danny and get someone on aif way line when they have corners lets clear the penalty area of some of the bodies. Do it and do it now.

Don't have a problem with rolling the ball out. hHen we had Ward who picked up a lot of goal kicks and held the ball up for advancing team mates then a decent percentage of balls did not come straight back. With the midfield nowadays most long kicks are swallowed up by the defenders and the ball ends up with the opposition and we have to try to regain possession. Building from the back should mean retaining possession and turning it into attack. Hoofing the ball upfield everytime doesn't work!.
What Davies REALLY needs to work on is taking comtrol of his 6 yard area. On corners particularly he seems glued to his line and rarely comes to claim the ball. When he does he often flaps and misses. We have conceded a lot of goals from close range. I know people on here criticise zonal marking (I am not clued up enough on tactics to have an opinion for or against that) but feel that whilst Davies is a good shot stopper IMO he needs to command his area .

The ball just finishes with Pinnock or Lindsay launching it instead of Davies. Pretty Futile tactic IMO.

We bossed the game yesterday for 70 minutes, oir weakest period came when we changed tactic and tried passing it around at the back.

    Played 21, conceded 21
Not bad, just need to sort the midfield to supply the strikers
