Lack of goals from midfield is a major problem. Not saying Lee was the answer but we do need to find one.
We got rid of Elliott Lee because he wasn't up to the standard of the decision we were in at the time.
Sometimes players have to drop down levels to come back up, Lee was miles off the pace for us but clearly some time in League Two to work on his game has done him the world of good so fair play to him.
Did you not see Paul Heckingbottoms interview ? Hecky was turning up to work the next day and there is a new player there.. Which he had no say on at all. The club were signing these players. Hecky was a coach not a manager
I saw where he said and I quote "if players were signed who I didn't want they wouldn't be getting played" he also said one of the reasons he joined Leeds was they had a recruitment team and he could focus soley on coaching. it was always common knowledge the head coach had the finals say on incoming and outgoings him lee Jay and same with stendel.
Come on now, Elliott Lee was never going to be a success at Barnsley, no matter how long we gave him to prove himself. My lasting memory of him is him having to do spring drills in front of the East Stand prior to a game. I don't think he was even on the bench that day! Would Keiffer Moore be scoring for fun at Ipswich if he'd stayed? Of course not. Often, a player has to change clubs to find success.
Hecky didn't sign or sell any of the players, he was just head coach. Thought the you'd have read between the lines in his last article in the media. https://www.coachesvoice.com/paul-heckingbottom-talks-leaving-barnsley/ That's why he couldn't wait to get out of the door, undermined all the way. Don't think we've heard the last from Hecky on this subject.
Stevie Mallan 7 goals in 20 apps this season, man of the match against Celtic in the last game. Celtic could be preparing a bid.
Good luck to em. Two goals against some Nordic part timers, none against Celtic, rangers, Aberdeen or Hearts.
He was man of the match against Celtic. Could be running out of a temporary shed at Accrington in front of 4k.
