We should have put Charlton to bed in the first 20 minutes. But instead - we had to endure the weirdest atmosphere I’ve ever witnessed at Oakwell. Total dominance - and yet total silence of the crowd - and that’s because we wern’t able to kill them off. If we have that dominance without scoring - it only takes one slip and the other team can score and then start to believe. Which is exactly what happened today and has been happening all season. A win is a win. But still not sure we will go up on evidence of today.
We scored two in the first 20 minutes. If you meant we should have got a 3rd goal somewhere between 20 and 70 minutes then I agree. We probably should have been 3 up before they got that joke decision and scored from nothing. But was a very enjoyable match and we beat a promotion rival. Not frustrated by that.
are you a total nob every day or do you take a day off now and again..... give a chuffin rest you prat.
I think we started coasting at 2-0 up and were handling them and heading for a comfortable win until the ref decided to give them that bizarre free kick...
I think we need a fox in the box.Looking at the stats ie shots to goals ratio we need a Billy Sharp kind of a player imho.
I don't think we did coast, only one team looked like scoring in the 2nd half until the ref handed them a chance.
We definitely seemed to turn the intensity down after twenty five minutes but until the ridiculous free kick that they scored from they didn't really threaten us. I agree that we really should have been three or four up before the joke of a free kick.
**** me Betty. There aren't words.....Yes there are.... "weirdest atmosphere I've ever witnessed at Oakwell" Is it your first game?
An excellent game today very enjoyable, 2 superb goals, Bahres performance was special and how we closed the game out after they scored was impressive and showed another side to our game and how we are improving as a team and gaining experience with different types of game scenarios. Davies looked strong Lyndsay and Pinnock best partnership in the league and will play at a much higher level. Pinnilos plenty of effort and determination. Cavare played well but his confidence is still low, he needs support and not be terrified of making a mistake without a massive backlash. Mcgheehan and Mowatt excellent, Potts and Thiam fantastic goals. Woodrow quality and committed. Bahre a new Oakwell star is born. This team and management group will only get better and we now have players of value Dougall Moore Woodrow Mowatt Potts Pinnock lyndsay, Davies Bahre with Mcgheehan, Cavare, Thiam now not far behind, this squad will be better than the last promotion squad and without loans.
I thought we demolished them first half, but unfortunately took our foot of the gas after the break, and made it hard for ourselves. If we had been four up at half time, we would have coasted it, but as usual BFC give us squeaky bum time.
Our fox in the box is Woodrow. The shot to goal ratio is often a bit off because we tend to have a lot of long range efforts.
I agree with you in saying is a win,. Can't agree about the atmosphere, think the fans realised the team had to dig in and got behind the lads very well, especially after they scored. If you look back that is the third win on the bounce against teams in or around play off spots and a draw against Portsmouth. If you had looked at the last four fixtures and been told we would take ten points from a possible 12 surely you would have took that??? Oh and I cant remember a season where we reached halfway unbeaten at home.!! There are faults but hey, you've made a (right) choice to watch third tier football, so what more would you want really??
