Good signing for them. I am sure he will have more good than bad games. Hope we don't regret not "risking" it. I would be surprised if he fails to do well tbh
Good move for him that but he should be back with us even if only as a squad player to offer a different option when necessary
All depends on the rest of their team. When we signed him, he joined an excellent team that was punching well below their weight. Can same be said for Scunny? We'll see.
I find it odd. Didn't he have a trial there in the summer? Find it very strange that they would see something in him now having deemed him not good enough 5 months ago.
Good move for hammill but like said surprised as scunny took him on trial and declined to sign him earlier in the season. What's made them change their minds.
Would imagine it’ll have come down to wages, he’s now proven his fitness & been in form so they’re probably willing to pay him more
Could have been wage demands at the time. Seeing as Scunthorpe can afford his terms, the only reasoning we aren't after him is we either no longer rate him, or the self imposed age restriction. If its the latter I find that beyond barmy.
Delighted for him. His family is settled in Barnsley & only an hour’s journey for him. Hope he does brilliantly except from when they play us
Not really applicable to Hammills case. The choice was St Mirrens to only sign him on a short term deal and they wanted to tie him down to a longer deal when this one ran out but Hammill probably wanted to be closer to home and probably on more money which he’ll get at Scunny. They wanted him in the summer but for whatever reasons (money, lack of match fitness) they didn’t agree on terms but now they’ve got him.
Here's a thought Potts has been playing out wide for us this season. We sell Potts for a tidy profit and gazump Scunthorpe and bring back Hammill
