4-4-2 with Isgrove on the wing or Zecky on the wing or Brown on the wing. 4-4-2 with Moncur on the wing or Hedges on the wing. 4-4-2 with Williams on the wing or Williams on the wing.
We cannot accept 1.5million surely? £5million is excessive but I’d be hugely disappointed if they took less than 3. Whatever they get, if he’s sold, will be ‘undisclosed’ anyway so if we got £10million some on here would conclude we’d got half a toffee crisp and a blackies egg
You're right. But on the other hand, if anyone was willing to give us £5 million quid for Potts, then we'd be daft not to take it imho. Good player especially at this level, but surely he's replaceable for £1.5-£2 million tops?
We are a league 1 club. If a championship club comes in for any of our players they will go. So long as the fee is accepted. Any player would want to go too.
As it stands we bring in Moncur to start instead. You lose the physicality of Potts but hopefully keep the goals and the creativity.
It’s even funnier on Twitter...it’s gone from a rumour to us playing in the conference with the rate we’re selling all our players, love it,
C'est la vie. We'll still have a half decent wage bill that needs reducing. One of our saleable assets 'll be gone. If it's Potts so be it. I'd be a hypocrite if I pretended to be gutted at prospect of him leaving as I've given him some stick in the past.
At the start of the season the 'ownership' stated that the most important thing for them was keeping the bulk of last year's squad together to have a crack at going straight back up. I think it highly unlikely that they would now change horses mid-stream with the goal within striking distance. The owners and Stendel know that we have a strong core built up of Davies, Pinnock, Lindsay, Dougall, Mowatt, Potts, Moore and Woodrow and that getting rid of any of them would be contrary to their own stated approach just five months ago. Moreover, nothing has changed in terms of needing to sell any of them in terms of their contract expiry dates and most, if not all, would command the same fee in four months' time as now if we had not got promoted. I think they know we need a nett couple of additions - flying winger who can get round a full back and put in telling crosses, a full back and a striker who can cover for Moore's absences (plus possibly a second 'keeper on loan to challenge Adam). Wage wise we can compensate for these by letting the wretched Moncur, Fryers and a couple of other peripheral guys go. If we just make three under-the-radar signings of the quality of Dougall, Woodrow and Bahre and keep our core intact, as we did last window, I'll be more than happy. At this stage that is how I have faith that we will go and I don't think a laughable offer from the Riddler that the club have shown nothing but the door to is reason to stop believing on day three of the window!
No issue with selling anyone, aslong as we bring in someone better..... 1.5 million seems about right, solid league one player with some championship experience.
Not even halfway through a four year contract. Already in double figures for goals and assists combined. Key player in a team in a good position to be promoted. Wanted by a club owned by a billionaire. The fee is ****. It would be next summer with six months more off his contract, the whole summer still to replace him and still stuck in this division.
