That’s a lot of money to turn down. But I think we’re starting to see the real potential of Mama shining through in recent matches. He’s often been our most dangerous outlet. It’s taken him a while to settle in and fully get up to speed. At such a young age there may well be a lot more to come from him. Real statement of intent to turn that down. Pleasantly surprised if true.
So someone is willing to pay £2m ergo he is worth £2m and we should sell? So you agree when I said we should sell?
Hes not a winger, he plays on the left of a front 3 when we play that formation. Hence why I called him a forward, not a striker, although when he came he played as a CF. He's never played wide Left when we play 2 up front, in a 4-4-2 etc. I'm not having a go at Thiam, I'm saying its a hell of a lot of money for a bit part player in a team the league below. Stop trying to make out I'm saying something different.
Personally can't see us getting more than that kind of fee for him if I'm honest. I like him as a player but reckon we could reinvest it more wisely in other positions if necessary.
Reckon the champ team is Derby. They have started to stutter so Mama may have popped up on their creative radar.
Any improved offer I reckon represents value. He'll be on a decent wage too will Mamadou, and although he's done well recently I think we could reinvest and improve.
After the way he performed last season I honestly can't believe any Championship club would want him. Never mind a top six club. I would bite their hands off for £2m. Compare that to what we got for Winnall who is twenty times the player.
Not if the current owner thinks he's worth more. Fundamental rule of the market. Clearly we shouldn't 'sell sell sell' if we value an asset as being worth more to us than the prospective purchaser is willing to pay. Not even if Conan and Dodworth Rover think otherwise. In fact, definitely not if they think otherwise.
Touchy! Was just saying that he’s a winger. Was signed as one and is one. With 3 up front, I thought he looked pretty decent actually - played some good football under Morais. Anyway, I still don’t think it’s a crazy figure if you look at the stats compared to other L1 wingers. Most young players usually have over-rated price tags anyway - nice to have one of our own. Hopefully we’ll keep him though - he’s got that confidence back again.
Not sure Winnall is 20 times the player. That seems a bit high. Also think Mama is improving now he’s settled in England, understands the English game better and at 23 has plenty of room to improve. I think €2m is a high return for what we have seen so far, but obviously the board and coaching staff feel he has the potential to be much better and therefore more valuable if they have turned it down. Hope to see him improve further on his great recent performances.
Nope. You've said he's worth whatever someone will pay, then you have said he is worth whatever BFC think. So which is it? What do you think he is worth at the moment?
Surprised it is a top 6 club too. It's one thing scoring at this level but Championship defences are a different ball game. This month is going to massive IMO. It will either restore faith for fans who have been disillusioned from 2 years ago or be the straw that breaks the camel's back if repeated.
