Never a pen in a million years! So they use THEIR VAR and their management are up in arms cos no pen given!!
What an utterly bent ref. Only 2 things wrong with that decision. Mile offside and no foul the cheating dog.
Lino at fault for offside he was bang in line and kept flag down. What ref was thinking for pen... well.... was he thinking??
Serves the guy right ,he could have stayed on his feet and had a great chance to score was just waiting for the player to lean on him. how can the yellow card be rescinded if play hadn't been stopped. playing devils advocate and taking it to the extreme what if he had punched the player or broke his leg with a horrific tackle. Is VAR going to rewind to the offside decision and everything that happened after that doesn't count
He doesn’t touch the ball, but barely touches the striker either. Similar thing happened at the other end. Both nowhere near a penalty.
Agreed. Give them for that and it’s 10 pens a game. The ref couldn’t wait to give it in my opinion. Ours wasn’t a pen either.
if play is retrospectively stopped and an offside decision given, then surely the ball is 'dead' after the offside event. Since it was a technical yellow card, not dangerous play, abusive behaviour, dissent or violent conduct then surely a yellow card cannot stand. If the foul had taken place outside the box and he had been the last defender depriving a clear goal scoring opportunity then surely the resulting red card would have to be rescinded as the foul occurred in a phase of play that, technically, did not happen.
Pen or not that is a ridiculous amount of time to finally give the decision, I know it helped us out but sets a dangerous precedent.
yes i was aware of that. just saying if something happens after the offside as play continues , a very bad foul for example it still wont count.
“Clearly a foul”... Cavare doesn’t even touch him, he’s going down before the ball is anywhere near him.
