Some quite arrogant sounding comments on there... 'our cup final' and 'our big day out' etc, didn't realise Burnley were suddenly such a big draw nor a trip to Turf Moor could be considered anything more than ordinary. A few mention our lack of vocal support and that we all sat down, not sure how noisy Turf Moor nowadays (I wasn't there yesterday) is but it's been a good while since I've read so many negative views on our away following.

We were made to sit down.

The home fans in the other half of the stand could do as they liked. We were made to sit.

The three home only ends were like a morgue. The home fans in the other part of our stand made a little noise mainly giving it the big un from the safety of being behind a line of stewards.

I mentioned on here the weird silence at the WELL during the first half against Charlton.
We were playing some attractive flowing football but the crowd was quiet.

I’m putting this down to the style of football we are playing.
Flowing football but with very little action within the penalty area - the team relying on shots from well outside the penalty box.
That’s because we are not creating in the area.

We just haven’t got the players with the skill that can get decent passes or crosses into the middle.
An Hammill type of player would have 10+ assists by now.

They only sang after we did. Place was like an absolute morgue otherwise. Quieter than Oakwell that place.

Plus the ground is an absolute **** hole.

Can’t comment on Burnley or Luton away, but I thought out following at Blackpool was fantastic. Cracking atmosphere.

Yes their right defiantly a massive draw Burnley such a big day out. Up there with Chelsea, man United, city, Liverpool and Burnley such a great premiership stadium a real dream tie I'm sure every club championship down will be hoping to draw them.

It's usual stuff to be fair. A few sensible ones and some adolescents making predictable comments. Some of them don't even appear to have been at the match.

I had to laugh at two of our own knob ends near the coaches, who were making comments to supposed Burnley fans walking by. Thing is, most were reds fans walking back to the cricket club where we were all parked.

Some fans take pride in being thick. They wouldn't have it any other way.

Always thought us, Burnley, Blackburn and Bolton were very much alike.
Except they have had £££ zillions pumped into them resulting in years in the Premeir while we haven’t.
Days in the limelight at the expense of clubs like Barnsley.
Although it’s looking like Bolton and probably Blackburn have overreached somewhat.

Maybe it was down to acoustics because there was loads of chanting where I was sat. Admittedly quite a lot of old ones .

In the 80s, Burnley and Bolton were 3rd tier also rans although they had previous history in the top flight which we didn't have. Blackburn were very similar to us. No money, **** crowds but in the main, a reasonably strong 2nd tier team.

Blackburn got the money from Jack Walker and they went from that status to Premier League Winners, built a new ground and became a Premier League Club, however it was built on a bit of a charade. Granted the new owners haven't been a positive to their club, and have pilfered from the till but they can't sustain the spending they had because the core support without Prem football is pants. My Mrs is a Rovers fan along with her brother so I know their plight very well.

Burnley have done amazingly well, they are us when we got to the Prem against the odds, but they've did it in a better era when Sky money is substantially more than gate receipts and they've been able to out perform bigger budgets, same as Bournemouth.

Again, though, Burnley will struggle if they get relegated and don't go straight back up. Their wage budget would be horrific in the Championship even with the Parachute Payments.

Bolton, well, theyre ****** even moreso than Blackburn. I don't see how they can ever return, after years of overspending on the back of being in the Prem. Sunderland are having the same issue and I think this might become a theme in the future with some of the clubs that overspend or don't spend enough to compete, then have players who are on Prem money but not good enough to compete at the top of the Championship.

I don't buy into this whos bigger conversation. We can do as well as anyone with the right level of investment, the right management of transfers in and out, and a shed load of luck.
