Just sold out their second allocation....

First allocation was 1k according to an article on their official site. I imagine second allocation was same. On to a third allocation so should be a good atmosphere from the north stand for a change.

Not stupid at all is it. It was built to be a cash-cow for away fans, or hold part of our fans if a smaller away team came.

The idea was and is correct. A lot of grounds do it now.

Give them the full Stand for me.

    Generate some cash from them.

It’s not as if we have a violent history with them - if anything the two clubs tend to get on pretty well to be fair.

Exactly. The stand must have paid for itself with some of the huge away followings in there over the years. It was an ambitious build and was the correct decision to do so. Alternatively we could have save on spend by having an away end with 66 seated tickets like Wimbledon.

I'm sure they'll get it, I very much doubt they'll fill it. Think they'll bring 3-4k which would be a very good following

Thought the capacity of the stand had been reduced to just over 4k anyway - the concourse not being big enough for 6k or something like that.

If Bradford can sell that many, fair play to them.

Never had any ill feeling at all towards them as a club, I was pleased to see their form picking up. Hope that ends on Saturday of course though.

If thats true about the capacity reduced they ought to take 1500 seats out across the back rows and make some temporary exec boxes out of portakabins and give away fans option to upgrade at 60 quid a ticket

Not these days but lot of trouble in the 70’s and a police horse, Brigadier I think they called him, was seriously injured by a brick thrown between fans.

How can a stand which was built for 6,000 people and has held that number on numerous occasions no longer be suitable for that many people. I knew the previous regime had completely neglected the stadium but not to this extent.

I was there in the bus station that day when the violence really kicked off. The police horse Brigadier got a dart in it's eye as far as I can recall.
At that time darts were a favoured means of attack from opposing fans.
The away game at Valley Parade was equally horrendous and I was attacked twice on the way from the station to the ground, and once on the way back, lots of serious violence between these clubs at the time. Can't recall the year but it finished 0-0 with around 8,500 at the game.
Do not think we are pals and it's all nice and dandy

    Completely neglecting the stadium?
    You knew this?
What did this neglect consist of?
