I suspect you're joking, but we shouldn't be calling people "thick" for having different views to what we may believe. The left is particularly bad at this, and it makes the gap wider and makes the general left hated more. All IMHO of course.
Another well thought out and thoroughly thought provoking critique of labour and it’s policies . I was going to vote labour but after reading this long and insightful review I might change my mind and vote with you and the raving looney party
Hmm tbh that sounds like utopia but my feeling of jubilation of a higher personal tax band soon disappears in the hyperbole of passing the thousands of Tory created homelesss people and the queues at the many food banks around our town.
You crack on and vote for who you want. and nobody should lambast you for your choice. I tried to make it short and to the point but I will endeavour to put some flesh on the bones, there are many Labour strongholds where people who have voted Labour will not back the party whilst he is the ring master, I hope this helps
I think that's a shame though... Labour do need others to vote from them who have backed other parties previously. Some of those people will have preset ideas, based on mistruths and taking on board skewed biased media offerings. Some will have listened to what labour have to say and feel demoralised that it doesn't represent them. Obviously they have others voting for them, but they only have 256 seats. That's 70 short of a majority. So there are people voting for other parties, or people who didn't vote, who Labour have to win round if they want to form a govt. Mocking, and decrying others isn't going to win them round to form 70 more seats.
I agree with you in part about name calling but to blame one side when the Tommmy Robinson’s of this world are far worse than anything the left can bring up and the murder of one of our MPs by a right wing nutter.
Why is listening to an alternate view a utopia? I'm not asking for you to jubilant. But surely even the most ardent anti Tory can accept the personal allowance is better now than it was in 2010, even if nothing else is? Or is feeling so bitter and entrenched behind a party, person or viewpoint the new norm and we can only be set to deride, mock and abuse anything that doesn't belong to our personal bubbles. Is that what 2019 is, that we just don't know any other way of being?
Well he didn’t say voted Tory last time he said Tory voters which to be implied they wouldn’t vote labour anyway as he said as much in opening line . So. Tbh I don’t much care for s group of tories that’s voting for a party that’s brought this town almost to its knees .
I can understand why you'd be rich and left wing, but I don't understand why you'd not be rich but vote Tory. Mind you, I don't understand how anyone could seeTommy Robinson in any positive light but I know plenty that do.
I think they were talking about the LATEST poll mate - on the 17th Jan by yougov - cons 39pct lab 34pct -
As I said when I walk past the homeless and I never said it was a bad thing but as you said it was a Lib Dem idea . I don’t live in a bubble I go out and see on the streets what this lot have done I have suffered as to what this lot have done . Personal bubbles ? I struggling to find your meaning is it because I care what’s happening with the homeless and the working poverty . You seem to rejoice at the personal tax levels . Hey if your satisfied that’s for you to decide . It doesn’t seem to be working up here as moreworking people are using food banks . I put my views forward and more often than not I get told I’m bitter and twisted and entrenched etc etc . More often than not it’s from people of the opposite view ,should I not have views and only let others put theirs forward ? Imo it’s ironic
If you want Labour to be a party of govt, maybe you and Labour should. Labour for most of my lifetime has been a party of opposition and seems most content there aside from the stewardships of Blair and Brown. It seems to be against everything a tory does and just shouts at them. I understand the impact of the coal industry. But let's be honest about it, if we still had a decent sized coal industry, how big would it be now? How many fewer people would it employ? Look at the steel industry, that's just about gone. Because of globalisation. So yes, back in the time when we had people intensive huge labour forces, the tories ripped the place to bits. But if that hadn't happened... I doubt the coal industry would still be here today, and if it was, certainly not employing the huge numbers it used to. I don't personally, or expect others to forgive for what they did. But the anger I have are against actions taken... not just a blind loathing of a body. I've time for people like Woollaston, Clark and Grieve. In many ways they have views I don't subscribe to. Corbyn, there are many views I don't subscribe to. But I can't waste my energy on hatred of such people.
I very much doubt Labour have dropped 5 points in the space of a few days. As I said, polls are often wrong, taken with a pinch of salt.
A blind loathing ? You really are out of touch , You entered into debate then when people put their views they are bitter and twisted what the . My views on the tories May be bitter but they are certainly not blind .
You're taking one bit of what I said. if I asked you one question... just one in isolation. Are you satisfied that your personal allowance is £5k more than it was 9 years ago. That would be a yes wouldn't it? If Labour had done it, you'd have been delighted. That's kinda my point. That we get so wrapped up in hating something, that the good or the areas for compromise can't be seen. I said that the personal allowance is a good thing. I also said i'd never voted tory, never will, and disagree with the vast majority of what they do. I believe I called this the worst govt in my lifetime. Personal bubbles... I didn't explain, and I was talking generally (which I do far too much, but such is my way)… there is a noticeable aspect of life now where people have the ability to find news that supports there view. Twitter and facebook especially, people can find any news online in moments and set their feeds up accordingly. I used to believe papers influenced people... I still think that to some degree, but I think there is a much larger move where people surround themselves with the news they want and the views they want and don't see the other side of the fence. Given 10-20 more years, I wonder how that will entrench even more.
