What is the relevance of people who go to pubs pre-match or on pub away coaches though?

 

Well if that’s aimed at my post from the Burnley game. Then I’m sure that the people who approached Conway and GG at the ground at Burnley would have no qualms about approaching them again. These same people who were incidentally sober and approached them in a proper manner and asked direct questions like ‘why did we sell Pottsy’.

 

A couple of our owners love getting their pictures taken in pubs or with away fans who go on pub coaches. They must be on first na!e terms by now.

I've never seen them in the pub I go in but I will ask if they wander in on Saturday.

 

Partly yes but it was more of a general point that I've heard bigger all from them since taking over. Nowt on official site, nowt in programmes etc but I've lost count of the number of times they've found time to take photos with fans in pubs or who travel on public coaches at away games. It's not a criticism of the fans at all I just find it weird that they give a big up yours to the majority of fans but always manage to mingle with anyone who's anything to do with a pub.
Put a bit less effort into trying to gain popularity in pubs and a bit more into communicating with everyone because this two tier canvases that they appear to be creating is ******** and to be honest their tenure so far as been as disappointing as me in bed.

To paraphrase, ST thinks it should be quite easy for our owners to keep all fans aware of their intentions and reasoning along the journey... rather than simply sharing it with a few people in a hostelry or while dishing out a scarf now and then. I don't think that's an unreasonable thing to expect of our owners. Communication to everyone every now and again through official club channels.

 

We used to have the same complaints about Patrick when he was accused of communicating more with a select few in his private Facebook / Snap group than he did with the wider fan base.

And imo those complaints were valid too though the piss poor level of communication from the new owners is taking things to a whole new level. Not heard a peep from them since taking over

 

For the record I completely agree with you. One thing that used to really grind my gears was when confidential news got passed to a small group of fans through the private group. If there is news it should be passed to all fans.
