    Hardly prolific as a player, but started his career with us & promotion from within is often the route to success, so I guess he's on trial to get the job by the sounds of it.

    To be fair many of the best managers weren't special players and many of the special players weren't very good managers

    Just look at the recent prolific players who have turned to management and quite a few have failed/failing. Neville, Henry, Giggs, a wealth of playing experience doesn’t always translate into management.
