He could actually be the George Kerr who played for Barnsley in the 1960s and managed Grimsby in the 1970s.

I took the guys seat number and th

Why? I was an official of the club, he was in breach of the ground regulations and in breach of the law (foul and abusive language in a public place is a criminal offence). I was duty bound to act in the manner I did. What was wrong with my actions ? you weren't the bloke who was swearing were you ? or is it that you advocate foulmouth swearing in front of young children.

What role were you an official? Steward, programme seller, car park attendant?

Your role is to report the incident to the powers that be and allow them to make the decision in what course of action to undertake.

Your role isn’t to obtain the person in questions personal details and contact them undertaking the investigation into the complaint and any subsequent outcome. You lose any impartiality that is required to ensure a fair investigation is completed.

Thankfully for both you and the club the bloke in question wasn’t clued up, if he was it would have put the club and yourself in a potentially awkward situation.

    Let’s hypothesis...

You call up Sweary Steve and run through your previous about the complaint etc.

Sweary Steve then an hour later emails Don a formal complaint saying he had been contacted by a G Kerr pertaining to be an employee of the club.

In the call Mr Kerr had threatened Sweary Steve saying that he knows where he lives and if there was any repeat of the disagreement you both had during the game that you’ll come round to his house and chat face to face.

Sweary Steve wants to know who provided Mr Kerr with his phone number and address and on what authority.

He also wants to know on what grounds is a club official allowed to make threats.

He also wants to know if a formal complaint had been made against him why is it that the person making the complaint being judge jury and executioner and why is his word has been accepted at face value without hearing other versions of events and so forth.

    Worms. Can of.
