Just watched them. Three things: 1st Goal: Davies does not command his six yard box, typical goal he conceeds from a set piece, half heartedly comes for the ball, nowhere near it and then out of position for the ensuing effort on goal. 2nd Goal: What is Lyndsey playing at. However, 9 out of ten refs that is a foul on the keeper Our second: Hardly a full blooded celebration by Moore (and the rest of the team for that matter) Perhaps the transfer window is getting to them a bit. Either they want a move or a bit dejected at the thought of losing team mates. It is a team game after all and a disruption to a team is not a good thing
It would be interesting to know whether Davies said anything to Lyndsay as he was running back . As Davies is captain id hope he was advising Lyndsay one way or’t tother
Lyndsey could have protected ball a bit better and made it even easier for Davies, but it was keeper's ball and his timidity that resulted in the goal....wasn't a foul in my opinion.
Just shows how people see thing differently. Re first goal. Corner comes in towards penalty spot gets headed beyond post then headed just inside said post. ( My reading of commanding penalty area is from crosses into the six yarder) more to the point where were the defenders positioned during the corner and who was guarding the post. In my eyes Davies wrongly critised on that occassion. Him and lindsey at fault for second .both had time to deal with it. Even though watching the replay. Most refs would have given a foul. Made several fantastic saves to keep us in the game. beyondpost
Imo he shouldn’t be trying to protect ball in that situation he should be getting rid into touch . That’s why I’d be interested what the captain was advising if at all
Might be because of the one he completely misjudged in the first half when he couldn't decide whether to come or not and ended up being lobbed. Poor decision making, but great shot stopper and saved a lot last night.
Noticed this a couple of times with Moore. He will actually run around or past players on his own team to celebrate. He did it against Bradford at Oakwell too.
The gegenpress is easily countered by balls over the top or through balls. The second goal and the lobbed effort last night both came from balls over the top and the Rochdale goal on saturday was from an incisive through ball. Maybe it is something that can be worked on with maybe Davies getting off his line quicker if he's required to play sweeper.
You get this when a player isn’t quite as good as his publicity, trying to play the ball, had it been Gerry Taggart you know where the ball would have gone and he went on to be our most capped international
3 things for me. 1. Roar in the crowd at the start 2. ****! Before Thiam's goal. 3. ****! Before Moore's.
