Move would be great for him. Going back closer to home and still potentially getting another promotion on his CV.
https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/...ex-southampton-winger-lloyd-isgrove-1-8789982 If they want him he will be gone. The owners don't mind helping rivals out. They would sell a rubber from a pencil case in the box office that the staff use, if they could find a buyer.
Decent earner, not in first team squad, constantly injured... I can't see why anyone would be averse selling him. Pompey are in terrible form and isgrove has hardly created assists and goals galore in his time with us. If we can free up wage, bring in an option that suits the managers needs and is fit more often than not, its also in the no brainer category for me.
Agree. Isgrove needs at least 4-5 full games to get anywhere near match fit and back into his stride. I like the kid, but it’s not worked out this time round due to injuries and different managers.
They have a nerve....wouldn't sell Conor Chaplin to us due to being a promotion rival....hope they got an appropriate response
It will happen - Kenny Jackett really wants him plus we've no qualms about selling squad players to rivals.
Before the lanterns and pitchfork brigade turn up claiming the death of the club by selling to a rival. Just think about the player's involvement in this one - he doesn't play, takes up a pretty significant wage, hasn't performed well for two years, and has turned down moves to League Two. What are the club to do? He isn't match fit. Can't stay match fit. And can't get anywhere near our starting XI to the point an FC United youngster will probably pick up more minutes on the pitch for us this season than him.
Sell him in a heartbeat. I'd have been happy to tear up his contract with nil liability if we could so to get a few quid for him is even better, especially if it allows us to bring someone in. I liked Izzy, but it just hasn't worked out and based on the last couple of seasons he seems unlikely to be of much use to Pompey.
That's one way of looking at it. But on the other hand, every goal he or Moncur created or scored for their new team would have a direct negative effect on our promotion chances. We might not think that he'll improve their team, but they obviously do - why take the risk?
57 appearances over 2 spells. 2 goals and just a handful of assists, just 1 in his second spell. I'm of the mind he's unlikely to score or assist many at all if he were to go, just like if he stayed here. He's going to go or run his contract out in 18 months time. Getting something for him, freeing up wage and getting rid of someone who isn't going to feature and could adversely impact on our squad, just makes sense. Surely offloading poor players with no future for money, especially to rivals is a good thing?
