Doesn`t make much sense keeping him if we have got a chance of some brass, lets see how Greeny does instead. Would have loved to seen more of him but that`s the way the cookie crumbles.
Good luck to the lad, he's not had much luck while he's been with us and is clearly surplus to Stendel's requirements. I'm happy to let him go, even to a rival. As a fickle supporter, however, I reserve the right to have a bloody good moan at a future date if he (a) proves instrumental in Pompey's campaign; and/or (b) scores against us in the play-off final.
Depending on your view as to how good or otherwise they are, you could say that for every minute they play they keep someone out of the team that's more effective and take up money from their budget preventing them from signing anyone better. That would work in our favour. Given his injury record and lack of involvement both the club and him personally would be be better off if he left. As such, I've no issue with him leaving for Pompey. If they were close to signing Mowatt, Moore, Woodrow, Pinnock or any of the other 1st team regulars for that matter I'd be seriously pissed off. In this case I'm not.
It's hard this month because our first 18 if we keep them together will make up the matchday squad the majority of the time. You have to be fair to the players not involved and have their careers in mind. That's why Moncur and Isgrove were/are being allowed to leave. This in turn attracts new players. Gone are the days of rotting in the reserves. Problem we have and it's a nice problem is who do you bring in? Adeboyejo hasn't done badly and can't get off the bench. He's joined there by Jackson. You can't bring in players for the sake of it. It's stock piling that had left us with Hedges, Isgrove, Moncur, Jackson in the first place. I wouldn't be surprised if more players left before any came in.
The only test to whether this and Moncur is good business is who goes up at the end of the season.. So we'll have wait on how great these in's and out's are. Only saw Green last night for twenty mins last night but he looks miles behind the two we're letting go.. runs round like a little lad Seems more like lowering the wage bill in preparation of another league one season... hope i'm wrong on all counts
And guys like Berry, Pearson, Jackson and Lee all have away from us after hot being given much of a chance here.
Three players that you would think could have made the step up, have gone out the door. We've brought in a lad from Yeovil and one from non league. And this Miller looks of the same ilk. Looks like we're content to stay in L1. We are selling better players than we are recruiting. So it looks like these in the board room are content to be where we are.. So lets see who goes up.. Bump this in May
So you think that letting Isgrove leave is a sign of lowering the wage bill in preparation for another season in League One. The same Isgrove who has never been fit in his second stint with us, is on decent cash, and can't get a look in under Stendel? Aye. Alright.
