    Who’s celebrating?

It frees up cash for new signings now and summer though.

We can’t afford to carry that many midfielders - it’s been a long standing joke on here for months.

They seem to be about the right figures roughly though - most agree with that from what’s been reported in the past etc

Stendel and Winkler are/was very well paid. Infact, they Are the highest paid managers in the league. Yes, even more than the Sunderland gaffer.

Or it doesn’t we stay in L1 costing us 6 million quid and as a result and sell off our remaining decent players. Could be fine margins.

    Differing opinions on that really.

I agree we have to be careful we don’t derail our promotion push. But, Potts, Moncur and Isgrove barely featured.

Potts was probably the one to miss the most out of that lot.

We’ll see what happens. Sadly I don’t see a McBurnie figure ready to come in tomorrow.

I'm not overly bothered about selling moncur to Luton yes I liked him and he is a talent But he has had 4 managers and neither were able to get him to perform on a regular basis. Isgrove has contributed nothing this season so another I don't really care about. I just want to see the Potts money used on players who will strengthen us now for a promotion push. I haven't seen that.
The players we have been linked with who I have liked the look of Kerr from st Johnstone we bid 100k that was a insult. The winger from shrewsbury who got a hatrick last night bid turned down. Yeah we have kept moore and pinnock so far but get a injury and were ****** least we have another 1.8million under the mattress.

For me moncur and isgrove aren't massive losses moncur had 2 good games and isgrove hasn't contributed anything this season.
Losing Potts and replacing him with 2 players who have never kicked a ball at this level and banking the rest is poor though.

It my view that anytime you make yourself weaker you have had a bad window. I agree about Isgrove and to a lesser extent Moncur. Losing 2 of your match day 16 and replacing em with possibles seems bad business to me. If it ends like it is now it’ll be a 3rd disaster January on the trot for me.

We have lost 2 of our regular match day squad and not bothered to replace them. It’s a gamble. We may have enough to carry us over the line anyway. I think we probably will. No point kidding ourselves we have done well though it’s been another poor January thus far.

Potts was a driving force who chipped in with crucial goals. Moncur was often infuriating, but capable of some vital cameos. It's got to be assumed the squad is weaker unless/until Green and Simoes show some end product.

I completely agree about Potts, less so about Moncur. I've revised my thinking about tomorrow since I posted my response to you. With the GG announcement being made tonight I now think there will be a signing tomorrow.

I agree it’s a gamble. See what happens tomorrow.

We’ll probably end up signing a 19 year old from the Conference for our U23 squad though, won’t we!

I was one of moncurs biggest fans but for me his fitness was a issue and he was inconsistent. It was also obvious stendel preferred bahre over him (I still don't get the bahre hype) Potts was a massive loss and still had potentially 2 and half years left for us so to sell so fast was disappointing. Then like you say to replace with possibilities who have never kicked a ball at this level is poor especially when we keep getting told our target is automatic promotion. This window is disappointing but we have some more cash in the bank so can't complain.

Yeah. For me that signals any final deals are complete. Which we presume/hope one of these will be unveiled tomorrow.

We signed McBurnie and Moore last January. Plus Pinillos, though I can’t claim Knasmullner worked out.

Sold MacDonald, sent a few on loan and what else? Hardly a disaster like 2017, we were a much better team (on paper) at the end of January than before. No disaster.

Only trouble was there was a monumental disaster in February, namely giving the job as manager to an inept, clueless imposter who proceeded to fail to improve results despite having the best centre forward in the league. On the left wing...

I'd want a goalie to score more than that for 200k

No way was Winkler on £750 a week, if he was then BFC didn’t deserve to keep him
