Have been invited to a fan engagement forum with Paul Conway, Rob Zuk and Daniel Stendel next Wednesday Can't imagine there are many questions that need asking if you do have any, post them below or PM me. Cheers Gally.
Two things I would be interested in Gally. Firstly how doable my idea would be...... http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/o-t-the-club-superstore.271554/page-2#post-2182600 Secondly are we getting an away friendly in Nice this July like it would have been good having last summer, thank you
They do your idea every year its just a bit shorter (and getting shorter by the year). They call it the open day
Yeah that's true nothing really happens at the open day nowadays apart from sometimes the away kit gets launched. My idea is more having a half day event similar to the Live In Barnsley saturday they have in June but more family orientated. So food, drink, live music, fairground, Toby Tyke, new home kit n training gear launched, box office open for season passes etc. Plenty of decent places locally to give it a food and drink festival feel. I reckon it could easily make the club six figures profit to have the club open say 9-9 one saturday in summery June.
Best thing to do Gally is this. Invite me to the meeting. And then bang a good bottle of whiskey in the middle of the table. And if yer want - yer buy the rest of the people at the meeting something to drink.
The best thing you could do Nudge is to **** off down the road and lend Donny the pleasure of your infinite wisdom Cheers
Would it be possible for the tv's in the concourses to 1. Show the lunch time sky TV match ? 2. To actually have the TV picture hd quality or at least not blurred 1981 portable tv style so we can see soccer saturday. Concourse bars - any chance of going back to draught beer cider lager please ? If not can they at least get real on pricing for the bottles on offer. 3.80 in ground or drink in town at 2.10 a pint ? No brainer is it. Would still like to see Redfearns as a proper pub for match day drinking. Not a place for people to just sit and chat that don't even buy any food or drink. I've seen people refused entry that wanted a beer as it was supposedly full and i was inside and loads people sat talking and drinking there own flasks just killing time before a game.
This is a massive stretch of the truth. We've had to have a word with two or three folks about not buying anything but everyone buys something and whilst I'm sure there has been the odd flask it isn't some widespread epidemic. Also, capacity is 150 due to fire and safety measures. It might not look full to you but it's legally full.
Well I've not been in since because I'm not trailing up there to risk getting turned away coz it's full. Or if i get in and mates can't etc. It's hardly fan engaging and could be massively improved.
You could always turn up much earlier and guarantee getting in? Everything can be improved, so not going to argue with you there, but not fan engaging? Each to their own I guess.
No thanks i want to drink in a pub environment not a classroom environment hence me saying it needs changing the direction of the use of it.
Ahhh. So it's just not for you then? Now I'm with you. The people that use it are happy enough. Like I said, it won't be for everyone but maybe less of the shock tactics/not quite true stories of how it works and more constructive feedback next time? Would help us non-club employed volunteers a lot more.
Remaining home gamesand the run in .. With the exception of Sunderland and possibly Coventry, the North stand will be virtually empty. Could the club come up with An incentive scheme to fill Oakwell?
