He seems to fit into Daniels style.Hard working aggressive closing down type player.Plus we are a team who create loads of chances.
Like i said my knowledge of him doesn’t extend much beyond his goals record this season and the laughter of my Bradford supporting mates at the thought of us signing him. We clearly see something and I’m not being critical.
If I keep this conversation going its going to sound like I don't rate him and that's last thing I want people to think. Just put your trust in the club, the poor lad is getting judged before hes kicked a ball for us.
It's worth having another look at George Miller's scoring record, particularly last season at Bury. He scored within minutes of coming on for his debut as a substitute and kept scoring at the rate of a goal every two games. He will know Callum Styles. The best you can describe him as is young and promising and with a brief track record which suggests that he could be a really good prospect. For somewhere around £200k, that would be a good punt for me - nothing ventured, nothing gained and not a lot lost should it not work out. Decks cleared by departures of Moncur and Isgrove. I would have liked the Kerr guy from St. Johnstone and it would be worth giving them another nudge, even though he has signed a new contract. I reckon that they would deal at something more than £300k. Either Payne, or Smodics would have done for me, buy hey-ho. We've got the cash, so maybe we need to go a little higher than £100-£200k. Don't you just love deadline day. Ganaye says that he stayed until the transfer window is closed: this could be bad news if it means that no more deals are going through today; it could be good news if any deals are already done. Pleased that all the fuss about Pinnock and Moore seemed to have died down.
Harry Rachester is a definite fake account. Twitter account opened today, no bylines anywhere online.
Haha. Good catch. I'm usually better at spotting the parody and fake accounts but missed it on this one. The Miller rumour was from The Sun though (not that that is any better like)
Not a George, but I saw Cole Kpekawa had been released again. That's us who offloaded him to Colchester, who got rid after 6 games. He was picked up by St Mirren. Who after 4 games have also got rid. What a waste, 17 games in 3 years.
To be honest I alway like to be optimistic I saw his poor goal record for Bradford looked on their forum, I saw comments of "wouldn't like to think we were paying 200k for him" and "all effort no ability"
Rumour was £450k, but you never know how they are stacked with performances and add ons. That's the thing, if you look at this window, we're trying to offload players who didn't come off and in some cases, we paid a fee for them. If you look on net profits this window, we've probably ot made that much when you consider the fees initially paid and the fees written off.
Les Ferdinand claimed £450k when he was getting grief about why they were selling a promising youngster. Patrick came out and said it was nowhere near that figure. We paid a fee for Moncur but not Isgrove. Who else are we trying to offload that cost us significant money? Not every player will make us money, that's impossible, but if they've added value over the length of their contract and we can then switch them out for another player we've identified (e.g. Moncur for Green) then the initial outlay continues to roll.
