Just listened to Cavare's press conference, talking about getting slagged off on Twitter, and it seems like water off a ducks back the way he's talking.

I can't get why somebody would go after our own players like that, especially a young lad who's come over to a new country to play for us.

Must be the confidence that footballers have, being able to brush that stuff aside, but I like Cavare's attitude. Earlier in the season his form dipped, he was pulled aside and told what to work on, and IMO he keeps getting better.

    Good lad.

Agreed. I think sone people forget the old adage if you wouldn't like it then don't do it to other people.

Hope he plays a blinders today.

I think there has always been a problem, whether we like to admit it or not, with a small minority of the Oakwell crowd (online and in person) regarding young black successful players. I’ve seen it time and time again, and it really isn’t on; they seem subject to far greater criticism than other Barnsley players, and I’d like to think we’re better than that.

Oh it's just terrace banter and high jinks, innit? No harm done o_O

I agree - a few lifetime banning orders might do the trick. On the other hand the people who do this are so thick that they would just carry on anyway.

There's enough slagging off on this board without the need to look at whats been said on twitter. They know they shouldn't but can't help but read all the **** that's wrote about them. Hope they know that the minority of idiots that slag them off are just that, a minority. Slagging off young player does wonders for their confidence dosn't it and most of it unwarranted. Wonder if these keyboard warriors would ever have the balls to say to their face what they write on sociall media sites, some how doubt it.

Look, if you’ having a pop at one of the players on the grounds he’s black, it’s simple enough. **** right off.

Simple solution, we survived for a million years without Facebook or Twitter; don't use them.

Don't understand why folk use social media to just be negative. Some will moan get angry about the most trivial things. It's amazing what happens when you physically encounter some of these keyboard warrior hard men. Most are Joe average and look like they couldnt fight their way out of a wet paper bag.

Simple rule, don't hide behind a keyboard and state things you wouldn't say to someone's face.

I've not been totally convinced by Cavare. I'm still not sure but he seems to be Improving and he can be a handful going forwards. I think it's a valid discussion to have.
But to follow some bloke around on social media to run them down and insult them, accuse them of being rubbish or not trying. What sort of sad and pathetic individual do you have to be to resort to that? Says far more about the persecutors than the persecuted.

They probably would carry on until such time the law caught up with them or some of our more let’s say active fans found out who they are .
But if club were to find them out and were using racist or abusive language a banning order would make at least a few of them think again imo

With the abuse he has had earlier on when that bid came in from bourdoux if I was in his shoes I would have said to my agent and the club look I want to go. Credit to him for not doing that.

People forget he is only 23 he has more assists this season from full back than Lloyd isgrove has in his whole barnsley career. If the lad was more composed when he makes those runs forward he would be playing at a higher level then us. He would also make a great wing back for a team who play that system.

The less I look at twitter, the happier I am and I’m not even getting slagged off on it! I seriously suggest that for the good of all our healths it is best avoided. Horrible place.

Best Right back in the league imho.

Yes he’s raw, yes he gets caught too high up the pitch, yes he sometimes does daft things which might cost a chance, but opposition teams are scared shitless of him.

At times he’s our most atracking threat.

I like him, he’s not the finished article but he’s a young athletic lad. If we get promoted we’re going to need more and more of them.

We’ve turned down big money for him this window, from big clubs, they can’t all be wrong.

I despair when I look on twitter and see some of the disgusting things posted, I would love to meet someone who did this to try to work out why they did it. You should be as accountable on line as you are in person. The Cavare interview was great he seemed a really decent lad.

An updated addition for the present day: if you wouldn't say it in real life, don't say it online.
