I'm sure the season before last on at least two separate occasions visiting keepers had to go into the north stand to retrieve the football - An utter shambles!
Luckily we didn’t need any urgency from them, but the two who were operating the east stand were embarrassing. Just sat beside each other the entire game nattering away. Didn’t bother moving at all.
Do you know what ? I have never noticed them until their "no show" today. Just glad it didn't ruin what was an exemplary showing of football. Totally agree though, the ball boys were shocking....dunno how they can be proud of that. Will someone please tell them, how to behave, do the job and be as professional as the squad on the pitch.
Glad it wasn't just me that was riled by this today. This issue has been my bug bear for a while now because it's been so bad for so long. The incident where the steward had to retrieve the ball was bad enough, but then 10 minutes later a 5 year old lad had to go and get it at the bottom of the East Stand. The hooded Away stand crew of 'ball boys' sloped off 5 mins before the end. They looked about as uninterested as can be and probably couldn't wait to get in to check their phones for Paul Pogba's latest Instagram post. If I was a Barnsley player, I'd be asking Bobby Hassell to group them together so I could give them a bollocking. The attitude is all wrong and comes across as a workshy arrogance and a lack of care in the club's fortunes.
They don't seem to give a toss whether we're winning or losing. Can I be a ballboy please? Tremendous view (when not raining). Plus when we need to keep the momentum up, and especially when we're losing, I'll be doing more to get it back to the thrower than your average juvenile arse glued hoody.
Spoken to a fair few of the youth team over the years and the only thing they seem to have in common is they are gutted to be at Barnsley and couldn’t give a f*ck about the club but are hoping it’ll give them chance to move to a club they want to be at.
Not only do the actual ball boys not give a toss (so why the **** should we trust the future of the first team with such idle guys) but those running the club don't give a toss about it either as it's been routinely brought to their attention for a good few years now and they've done the square root of **** all to address it.
That's really demoralising but sadly unsurprising to hear. Still, the silver lining is that the majority of them will be feeling even sorrier for themselves and their chances with the WAGs when they inevitably end up at Frickley Athletic in 3 years time.
Well I hope that every one of them that is gutted to be at Barnsley is working in a warehouse in 4 years time when they don't make it because of their **** attitude. For most kids, being in the academy of a professional side would be a dream. Do they expect to be in MCFC's academy and make their first team debut at 17? Idiots.
Well to clarify, it doesn’t seem to be a barbed thing at Barnsley but more as you say a cultural thing where they think they should be at Man City. There’s good eggs of course, more a ‘modern culture’ than ‘Barnsley fc’ thing.
Snowflake generation....they want to be pro footballers in first team, with range rover sports by 15, **** the APPRENTICESHIP!
No word of a lie, I said to my good friend Trevor at the game that because we are doing so well the bbs forum won't have things to complain about. He said the ball boys have been shocking, they'll feel the wrath.
So basically your good friend Trevor acknowledged just how lazy the ball boys had been? Did you disagree with him?
