it will be there 3rd game in a week, cup match ,Wycombe then us,let's hope Wycombe give em some pasty and when they get here, they well and truely leggy
When we then play Doncaster that'll be our third game in 7 days: Saturday, Tuesday, Friday. It's not going to be an easy (couple of) week(s) for any team in the fight by then.
Sunderland & Donny two days apart is going to be very tough. Hope we don't get too many injuries, as we will need to rotate some players. Mowatt & McGeehan have deserved their run, but we need to use Dougall & maybe even use Styles off the bench to freshen things up. Hopefully big Kieffer will be back to full fitness then.
Course we can Jackson, Williams (if fit), Dougall, Green, Thiam or Hedges can all come in if necessary, plus Moore will be back by then
That's a list of fringe players but we can't rotate too much. Our first 11 picks itself when everyone is fit. We aren't going to rest Davies for Walton because he's not seen as competition. Jackson is good but only going to get a regular start if someone gets injured no matter how well he trains. Hedges showed again last night that he can't start games and is only alright off the bench. We aren't going to rest Cauley for Victor. We won't rest Mowatt for Styles who's never started for us. We won't rest McGeehan for Green who's never started for us. Our bench is weak. We don't have Potts, Moncur and Isgrove ready to step up with many games between them at this level and higher. The situation is what it is, but most of us know already what our starting 11 will be on Saturday. It will be one change Thiam back in for Hedges. We are predictable to future opponents due to lack of serious options.
I agree about the first XI, but we do have replacements. Making 1 or 2 changes here and there is possible and so to a degree we can rotate
We have been consistently good over these last 13 league games and rotation has been kept to a bare minimum. The old adage of not changing a winning team.
To be fair we haven't lost since Potts went. I do think we are weaker without him but can't complain at the results.
I make it none, i have generally looked at their matches. He was on bench for them once and then never seen since not even on bench
Not sure. I thought he'd been on their bench once but didn't come on but could be wrong. Either way looks like we were correct to let him go if he is that unable to play. Sad as i liked the lad but don't think he's been an asset to Portsmouth at least
