Had a look on there as I always after both sides have played. It seems one of their fans was in the Burton end last night and he gave his thoughts on the game and everything else.

Don’t know if he’s trying to get Barnsley fans to bite or what. But I’ve never read as much drivel in my life.

Makes me laugh. sat in the west upper I didn't hear the Burton fans once. Ponty weren't exactly loud, but louder than Burton.

I like how half of that is just slagging off the atmosphere. I seem to recall them being 3-0 up after about 25 minutes against us at their place and you could hear a mouse fart.

Thread title should be "Fan of team below us watches us in one out of our 33 games and clutches desperately at straws."

Sunderland fans have never really understood football. Its always been hoof and bluster and pick up the pieces, epitomised by the Quinn Phillips partnership. Their sole belief is they deserve to be a Premiership side because they built a big ground about 20 years ago that's largely empty and very dated, called it a ridiculous name, and that they've been a yoyo club a few times. Quality of football never comes into it sadly.

So I'll save myself reading their rubbish, it will have little impact on reality.

What did you expect from an underachieving, Massively supported LEAGUE 1 team. I think they av the Massive Wendy Syndrome

Let's face it the guy in question got a lot right in his report.. Whilst I thought the ground was quiet too I can't Recall hearing the Burton fans making much noise if any to be honest.... Play wise.. We were poor (posted my thoughts in parking bus thread ) had an off night that said we didn't lose kept our heads In what was a frustrating game no injuries that I'm aware of... Still in 2nd place .. Promotion is ours to lose in reality and the beauty about it all not all teams will do a Burton on us

Hang on.... So a Sunderland fan goes to watch Burton away @ Barnsley, when HIS team are playing at HOME. Proper weird that , I know which game I would be going to & it wouldn't be someone else's game 100 miles away.

Funny how so many people, including those in the media, assume that all fans of smaller clubs (ie not Liverpool, MU etc) live in the town of the club they support. This Sunderland fan might live in Monk Bretton- who knows?

Yeah, didn't think of that, but even so I'd be going to the team I support

Yeah, didn't think of that, I lived in Reading for 20 odd years but still went to the Barnsley games through the promotion/Prem years.

All I'm saying is if my team is playing at HOME, I'll be going to that game

He's spot on about the atmosphere. It was extremely disappointing considering our league position and recent form, but I go all over and it's the same everywhere.

If I remember correctly, Sunderland fans were silent at 3-2 at their place, and there were almost 30k there. Also, all you could hear on Friday was Accringtons fans, apart from the boos at half time.

If people are daft enough to think we've won 9 of last 13 playing like last night, then let them believe it.

I can't remember Burtons fans singing until the 90 minutes were almost up and they had the draw they'd come for.

I don't think us playing on the break is very accurate either. Didn't we have 59% possession and more shots on and off target last night.

Not a great performance against a typical spoiling side, but if it gives the Sunderland draw specialists a bit of summat to chew on, let em crack on.

All they've got on us at the moment is they've lost less. Considering they're so massive, that's not a great advantage.

I’ve had a look on their forum and there’s a couple tarn fans on there that talk utter ***** trying to wind them up but just end up sounding like belle*ds.

I always had a soft spot for Sunderland before this season but they seem to think they have a god given right to walk the league, and now, because we’ve drawn with burton and some people are frustrated that they came and parked the bus, the mackems are mocking us for thinking we’re a “big team”

Really changed my opinion on them this season and hope we resign them to the playoffs UTR

What I can gather from their forum is that all teams park the bus when they playing Sunderland .
I’ve news for them teams come here and park bus also but not too many as effective as Burton the fact we’ve broken down most tesms that park the bus and they havnt and that’s the only difference .

Why is the general football fan seemingly obsessed about attendances and atmosphere these days?

This bloke could be Brian the Blades apprentice. Shocked that he thinks 28,000 people can
make more noise than 11,000. Who would have thought that.?

Putting all the other sh*t aside his assessment of the game isn't far out, we were pretty poor last night offered next to nothing so I don't know why people are hammering this guy. Play like that at home to Sunderland on Tuesday 12th March and they will beat us.
