I can't be the only one who's disappointed that they're showing the man city team celebrating and not the keeper and manager of Chelsea can I? They should put the Chelsea post match team talk on ppv, they'd make a fortune
Azpilicueta shouldn't captain again either after how poorly he dealt with what happened. City won the shoot out before it had even started. Big boost to them knowing they were taking penalties against a guy struggling with cramp, instead of a former player with a point to prove and a excellent history of saving penalties.
Just another nail in the coffin for me. Player power. The Chelsea players totally humiliated their own manager in a Cup Final. I’d be fuming if I was a fan.
More importantly, Caballero played for City, might be more familiar with the City penalty takers, or at least introduce doubt into their minds. Injured or not it was a good tactical decision. Ref should have intervened and booked keeper for time wasting for not leaving the field promptly, with threat of a red if he didn't move.
That’s how 5 live are reporting it. The sub keeper saved 3 pens in his last shoot out. Regardless, if your Manager says you’re off, you go.
Yes you do. Like I said I can understand him putting a hand up to say 'no I'm fine, I'm not injured' just so that hes fully aware of the situation but if the manager says you're still coming off then off you go.
It’s not hard this it it? Kepa shouldn’t play for Chelsea again or at least for the rest of the season, Azpiculeta should be stripped of the captaincy and given to someone who’s got balls to stand up to the other players and tell them to follow the managers orders. It doesn’t matter if it’s a youth player or a 75 star keeper doing it, it’s disrespecting the managers authority and as soon as he loses that he’s knackered.
Couldn't that work in man city's favour too though as they would all know that the keeper gets down to his left better than his right (for example) or that he usually saves them in the top corners but not the bottom?
Thought Sarri was off at one point walking down the tunnel the guy was raging. Shouldn't have backed down once he did he really has lost all control.
David Luiz was quick to go over and what I can only imagine telling the keeper to go off so fair play to him. What I also found disrespectful was Chelsea’s number 2 rudgier (or somthing) not allowing the manager to speak to the keeper at the end of extra time. It seems player power is more of a thing at Chelsea than any other club, can’t see why anyone high profile name would want that job.
