I really don't know what you mean by ''no platform', but whatever red herrings you throw in to try to justify it, violence like that is wrong. We have laws to deal with inflammatory speakers, as Abu Hamza found out.
Robinson talks some sense and some rubbish. I don’t like the bloke myself but his followers seem as gullible as the people who believe anything corbyn and may churn out. The fact is that these people need your support to further their own personal careers and ultimately wealth.
Good and Bad in us all, when it suits well do and say what we think is right, Right or Wrong at the time.
I find it very interesting that nobody has come out and said clearly that they are a supporter of Tommy Robinson on this thread. Just a few half arsed ‘I’m not a fan but he makes sense sometimes’ bits. Given that we have a decent spread of ages, opinions, idealisms, politics and all sorts on here, generally have opinions in all directions on such matters, that to me means one of two things: Either he hasn’t a lot of supporters in this area, or, His supporters aren’t comfortable admitting that they are, at least not on here. Sadly I suspect the latter, but would love for it to be the former. If it is the latter, and it refers to anyone reading this, I plead with you to think about why you don’t want to admit it, and consider whether that means that actually deep down you know what he is and that you don’t want to be part of it. If Yaxley-Lennon and his like are given a voice for too long, we are in a lot of trouble. All he is doing is dividing our communities, creating more ill feeling and it will inevitably lead to further violence, segregated towns and cities and streets I don’t want my kids anywhere near. And I’m not actually convinced he believes in most of it, he’s just seen an opportunity for notoriety. A few years ago he stepped away from the the extreme far right, yet is regressing further back that way as that is the way the tide has turned to make him ‘famous’ and so make him some money. There is nothing real about ‘Tommy Robinson’. I mean for Christ’s sake the man is that fake he uses a pseudonym, as his real name doesn’t make him sound English enough or working class enough.
It means they should not be given the oxygen of publicity and should be challenged and demonstrated against wherever they choose to appear. We as a people have a history of bashing Nazis when they appear on the streets and long may it continue. No platform.
I'm not sure he has been silenced, however some platforms such as Facebook have said 'not in my house'. He can express his opinion anywhere he wants, Free speech doesn't mean you aren't accountable and it also doesn't mean others have to give you that platform to speak. Se let him be accountable either by the law of the land or the response and reaction. Its clear to me he only has one agenda so I get his message and clearly don't support it. Do you?
You set off well but spoil it when you get on the violence bit. Sort of thing Trump would say. Mate, I hate him as much as you, and that's without having listened to more than a sentence of his, but if this society is to continue to work, it's got to apply its rules equally to all.
Its the political belief of the national socialist german workers party. It was until Hitler and his machine started gaining influence and power a socialist party akin to what a number on here would vote for ... Once Hitler got the keys to the castle thats when the party went for the racial purefication. The rest is history. No one has disputed the sheer evil of this ideology barring a few holocaust deniers ( a number of which are known to the labour party but thats a different topic.) and conspiracy theorists. In that soundless? video what evidence is there that the presenter follows Nazi doctertine? All i can see is that a bloke getting chinned by a far left masked coward. So where do we draw the line at no platforming? Whats allowed? Would you hold the same opinion if a far left gobshite started with the extermination of I dunno Bhuddists.? What about religious extremism. If a religion wanted to exterminate an entire race would you want them no platforming? Or a country such as China and their religious reform camps. Im sure theres other examples you could use. Or is it a case of no platforming anyone whos views dont agree with yours. Which makes you a facist.
Always makes me laugh when you see these far left snowflakes label people who agree with a lot of what he says as ‘racist bigots’ when nothing he says has anything to do with race. Personally I agree with him to certain extents on a lot of things, wouldnt say I believe everything he says but he’s far less dangerous to the country than the far left bandwagoners.
https://resistinghate.org/tommy-robinson-and-his-hate-tweets/ Yeah course not. Or if you’re going down the rhetoric that Islam isn’t a race and that Islamaphobia isn’t a form of racism, then re-educate yourself. Far left snowflake? I’m neither. Barely left of centre, the problem being nobody wants to hold the centre ground. Anybody who supports this moron though is so far from the centre ground they’d need a passport to get back to it.
If your going to try to tell me ‘Islamophobia’ is racism when its a religion, not a race then there’s only one of us who needs re-educating flower. If you ask me do I dislike the religion of Islam, I’d say yes. Ask me if I dislike Muslims, I’d say no. I dont dislike anybody for their skin colour, their nationality or their beliefs aslong as those beliefs arent twisted by a religion that encourages the deaths of those that dont believe in it. Does that make me racist?
I dont get the racist mark he gets it's always far right leader Tommy Robinson former leader of the edl did anyone watch the video his pal Avi a dark Australian jew was asking the questions from the opposing protesters an Nazi cant compare the two Hitler hated the Jews Tommy robinson was stood with his dark skinned Australian Jewish guy Avi
My grandad used to tell me a story about Oswald Mosley and the blackshirts coming to Barnsley in the 1930s. The miners heard they were in town and effectively told him and his cronies that they were not welcome. This story has always made me very proud to come from Barnsley. I hope the people of Barnsley would do the same should Yaxley-Lennon ever visit.
That story is in the book “The Road To Wigan Pier” In the book Orwell states that at first the miners gave Moseley hard time but after a while they were clapping him . https://theroadtowiganpier.wordpress.com/page/2/
The problem we have here is nobody in power is prepared to stick their head above the parapet and have an open debate about immigration and its effects on the population of this country due to the fear of been labelled a racist. The majority of us are taught and are brought up to respect others, to be tolerant of others and their cultures to believe in freedom of speech... To do un to others what you hope they in return do to you. We as a nation in general uphold these values and no doubt will try to help anyone in distress.. I like many no doubt try to uphold these values. That said there are numerous occasions whereby we get played by our own government and they treat us terribly yet in times of need they come calling on the common man woman to lay his/her life down for the good of the country... Throughout history they have told us one thing when secretly doing another.. Stood back and watched us self implode ... Feeding us snippets yet allowing the media to whip up a feast fit for a king lighting the blue touch paper and standing back awaiting an explosion of outrage. At times they pander to large sections of the community whilst turning a blind eye to more pressing issues that effects each and everyone of us .. The powers that be, use the rule and divide tactic at every turn knowing that if we come together the power over us fails. Whilst we are at each others throats they are happy. Neither of the two main parties can be elected to power without a large Asian input... That Asian input will only get bigger as the years go by.... Due to the size of families . ie.. children being born... The majority of that Asian community is Muslim the majority of which follow the religion of Islam and their voice is getting louder and louder. Their influence is having effect to the point that sharia law is in place in certain parts of the country though not wildy publicised .. Whilst not wanting to belittle We already see one rule for bike owners no matter which race having to remove helmets in shops banks and garages but yet Muslim ladies are allowed a full face veil... Sikhs don't have to wear a crash helmet if wearing a turban...just two examples of many where exception to the rules we live under are altered in the name of religion. The fact that in many schools pig can't be on the menu Christmas not celebrated assembly's no Lords prayer... Its an erosion of Christianity the very fabric of our island... Its the changing face of Britain. Most of us on here get up tight when we see injustice and hate violence we are a very forgiving nation and no doubt there are as many Muslims as there are other religious faiths that live peaceful lives and don't wish any harm to others. No man or woman no matter what colour or creed should be treated differently .. We all bleed the same colour... That erosion of the British life that many knew is now been diluted by the many different cultural colours that flourish bringlng a multitude of changes that some fail to grasp. Unfortunately instead of embracing change TR insists on banging the British empire drum of white supremacy rule... Which wins him no favours in my opinion. Yes I have to agree that if our own values and Christianity is to remain as the leading light then yes immigration needs to be checked. However ones relegion colour of one's skin should not determine your right to abode nor your ability to rights... In the UK... We should all be treated equal... Unfortunately we are not . hence these in discrepancies give the likes of TR a platform to air his hatred.... Secondly might I add I don't think that what the bbc did in the above clip has any place in a society that is fair yet already broken... It just helps give voice and fuels the situation. I wouldn't call myself a racist but I do believe that we has a nation should and need an open and honest debate...on the said subject as the present model isn't working. If that makes me a racist then so be it... I'd better start apologising to my many friends of numerous colour and creed.
