True, Kieffers health should be the main concern

Sorry Shed I cannot remember the tackle .
I was sat with my dad in the donny main stand .
The next time I sat in there was when we lost 4 - 0 .
By this time they had changed the wooden seats to plastic ones and it was impossible for me to sit down .
Therefore our west stand doesn't want to be altered like that .

It is possible to be concerned about Kieffer's health and our promotion chances at the same time.

Just caught up with this bad news. The main thing of course is the big lads health and recovery - get yourself well soon Kieffer.

It may be pessimistic of me, and of course we could still steam on without him, but I do fear for our chances of keeping a resurgent Sunderland at bay for a quarter of a season without him. If I were a betting man then my money would be on a play off place. We have already missed him badly these last 2 games. It will be one hell of a sweet achievement by Stendel and the rest of the squad if we go up auto now. But for now, it is still ours to lose.

My prime concern is that Kieffer's health returns to normal long-term. Think it's good from the club to clearly have put his health first all along.

Good to have put it out now too as it will avoid all the "if only Kieffer's back next game" speculation whenever we don't win going forward and we can all make sure we fully get behind the lads who are left, even if they aren't going to be able to replace like for like.

In fact, without one of our prized-assets we, as fans need to get behind the team more at game time - we were great at Pompey, let's hope for the same backing for all the upcoming games - especially Sunderland.

Team wise, I think there are two good options perhaps to alternate with depending on the opposition. One is to bring Dougall back and push McGeehan on as a 4-2-3-1 / 4-1-4-1. The other would be to play Brown in the middle with Cauley and bring Green in on the right as part of a 4-4-2. On the little we've seen of Green, I'd be happy with either of these options.

Some encouragement for Kieffer. Look at these names: Peta Cech; Iain Hume; Steve Davies (now Rochdale); John Heath (former Bury keeper); Bert Llewellyn (former Walsall and Wigan Athletic striker) - all suffered serious head injuries, including fractured skulls and played on successfully after recovering fully. I realise that Kieffer's is concussion and the safety and welfare of players is better now than in the past, but it is an encouraging thought to consider players who had significant head injuries and were able to restart their careers successfully, sometimes progressing even further than they might have. Get well, Kieffer, and come back stronger still.

Just catching up with the news now I'm home from work. This is sad to hear but in terms of Kieffer's welfare it's undoubtedly the right decision. Can only speculate on the extent of the initial injury and wish him all the best.

Not signing another striker in January was a gamble, up to a point I can see the point some are making here. But without knowing what our budget constraints are, I can only guess that perhaps the club felt they couldn't bring better in than what they feel we have for what they were willing to spend. Losing your target man isn't helpful, but I remain optimistic that the abilities of our head coach will see someone from Brown, Bahre, McGeehan, Adeboyejo, and Hedges step up and contribute as well as continuing to provide for Woodrow. Personally I'd go with Brown and Bahre.

If people feel criticism of the club is justified, fair enough. It's all about opinions. I don't personally buy the criticism. We can still do this, let's pull together as support and players. And do it for Kieffer if no one else.

Think the club will find out how the fans feel next season when season ticket renewals come around should we miss out on promotion. Penny pinching come back to haunt them.

Everyone has a choice. Personally, I've enjoyed this season more than any (so far) for many years. 2015/16 was a season of two halves which ended successfully. I've been consistently entertained and seen some exciting attacking and winning football over most of the season so far. I still fancy us to go up with what we have, but if not, as disappointing as it would be to miss out, I'd be happy watching another season like this.

I think it was a mistake not to bring someone in up front in January but there's no use crying over spilt milk now. We have what we have and what is pretty certain is that whoever we'd brought in they wouldn't have been Kieffer-esque - he's a pretty unique presence. Only Eaves of Gillingham maybe is close to him physically but on the two showings this season even he's a long way behind KM in terms of all round game. Eaves would have been well out of our price bracket too.

We have one of the best finishers in the division in Cauley, we just need someone for him to play off and the more I think about it, Brownie is pretty decent in the air and can hold the ball up so he's first in line for me. I'm excited by Green's pace and hope he can grab a chance now too.

I’m sure majority of fans will feel the same, some will also remember that the board decided to do this and possibly won’t invest again should something similar happen again. Think our board showed lots of naivety in jan.

I forgot about Green. We have options, Brown has also shown he can look after himself too, doesn't fear defenders at all.

I'm a bit worried that if we don't go up then next season won't be like this one. We have a fair few players who will attract Championship interest and it will be a big test of the owners' resolve. If we sell them off we could be looking at a rebuilding season.

If fans bought tickets based on the boards inability to live up to their personal expectations, there would be no one buying season tickets at all.

No board at Barnsley has ever been exempt from criticism in all my years of watching the reds.

If Barnsley fans didn't have a bone to pick with its board, the would lose their raison d'être.

Get what your saying to be fair. I suppose depending on the variety of opinions, it can be seen as naivety, or a gamble, or a belief of the board and coaching staff in what we already have. I genuinely don't know who/what sort of striker we could have brought in to cover for eventualities like this. If only as I think Moore and Woodrow are arguably the best two strikers in the division for what we seem to want to pay. Maybe we are running close to the limit for our revenue v wage bill limit that applies under SMCP?

In balance, presumably Miller was the option before the lack of a recall clause in his loan became apparent.

I think they decided that bringing in another striker at the moment wouldn't give a good enough return on investment as the plan would be for him to be a bit part player and that doesn't increase value significantly.

    No profits no player.
