I think it was Confucius that said “all religion is a load of old made up ********”
Yep, I’ve just checked the interweb and it was definitely him.

It’s the great irony that those who are extremely intolerant in their views, shout out that their “freedom of speech” is being attacked if their intolerance is curtailed. Freedom of speech should not, indeed must not, enable hate speech - FoS has its limits! The trick (or difficulty) is where the line should be drawn - definitely not inclusive of hate or incitement to hatred

As we all know, only the “racist bigots” can be guilty of hate speech. I mean the likes of Abu Hamza were saints compared to Tommy Robinson.

Another example of why political threads are a bad idea.

I think you're right. Generally a very civilized 'chat' this thread.
For my part I think, ultimately, that people like Tommy Robinson are moronic because they use stereotyping to spread hatred. At the end of the day, all human beings are capable of good and/or evil (however we define those words). So, if he wanted to TR could highlight an individual and explain why that particular individual's actions caused him angst. He doesn't do that though. He targets groups of people based on race or religion and then uses the perceived actions of some people in those groups to vilify the entire religion/race. This, for me is why TR is a moron (and his followers).
Any one follower of Islam is indeed capable of evil, just as any one follower of Christianity is. Any atheist is capable of evil...etc..etc..
Look at the individual. Dont prejudge any individual based on their religion, race, colour, gender or any other factor. If you do that then youre on the slippery slope to becoming a TR sympathiser.

Disagree Conan, decent thread for once this, differences of opinion without too much in the way of abuse.

A little condescension but not too much more than that.

I agree totally ... I was just drawing reference to the fact that Christianity has been the bedrock of of this island and is the lead faith.... headed by the monarchy...

I see the said incident has made The Sun Online this morning with the headline “Gang of Brit yobs attack boy”. Also blurs out all their faces as not to see the complexion. Wonder if the same courtesy would be offered to a gang of white British lads in a role reversal.

If I removed the monicer of ‘TR’ from that script I could very easily replace it with the names of several Imams freely talking in this country about their desire to see the west fall, to see Shariah law here and to see us non believers die. The most famous one weve had, Abu Hamza, how long did it take to extradite him to the U.S because of human rights and several other laws? The same human rights and laws that were simply pushed aside in the arrest and subsequent prison sentence given to TR last year.

How would their ‘complexion’ prove their religion?

You clearly do have an agenda here and it reeks of prejudice.

As for would white British lads be offered the same? Have you never seen similar things published with blurred images? It’s the norm. They might even be minors.

But no, you’re right. It’s protecting the brown folk... even though it clearly isn’t.

As mentioned in my original post, theyre of asian descent, in Bradford. Doesnt take much to put two and two together unless your a snowflake with your head buried in the sand.

Wasnt the boy in the syrian refugee case even named in the paper? So no, its not the norm. But you carry on on your high horse.

Abu Hamza did time for his involvement in illegal activities.

What I want to know is, if Tommy isn't racist and it's all about the Muslim grooming gangs, rapists and child sex abusers...

Why isn't he camped out in Vatican City, why isn't he trying to get access to the General Synod of the C of E?

If it isn't race then why is it just the Muslims he's after, when members of the 2 biggest Christian churches have committed far more sexual offences and child sexual abuse was institutionalised within their organisations?

Probably because your talking of a worldwide problem from decades ago. Whats going on with muslims grooming gangs is the here and now. Not only happening on our streets but also being covered up by those in power.

As I stated above, if it had anything to do with race why has their never been an issue with Indians, of very similar appearance?

It is being covered up, so that due process of law and fair trials can be carried out, rather than TR'S lynch mob mentality. It's pretty simple. The same thing with the Catholic nonces. You are only hearing about them when they are convicted.
