One or two Sunderland fans seem to think there won't be much interest. https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/how-many-do-we-sell-for-wembley.1464465/ Apart from the semi home leg and final, I didn't take in any of the other rounds when we got there, and I didn't know what to expect at Wembley, but it was a fantastic occasion when alls said and done. I'm really glad I went, and I know several who regretted not going. To the Sunderland fan who was posting on there the other day. Tell your fans to get down there in numbers and enjoy it for what it is. It's a fantastic day out, and once the game kicks off it'll feel just as important as any other Wembley final.
A few on their forum think pompey won't sell out and they will get their tickets too. I'd think pompey will sell out the initial 35k aswell.
It’s a fantastic day out and cheap in the context of Wembley finals . I would say they’ll sell all their allocation and I’d bet Pompey not far behind , it’s a competitive game of football and a bona Fide trophy . Those that don’t go will regret it imo especially if they win . It’s an opportunity to take family who otherwise wouldn’t go to football as well without taking other fans allocations that go regularly
Didn't feel as important as the play-off finals we have been in or the FA Cup semi. But totally agree with everything else you said. It was a brilliant day out, it remains the only game I have ever been to in that competition and I'm very glad I made the trip.
I didn't go to the Checkatrade final, or the play off final at Wembley, and I'm glad I didn't. I went to the Ipswich and Cardiff games, so I know what would've happened had I gone to the 2016 trips to Wembley!
Pompey fan talking about when they filled the Maracana! Wonder if they put a special on? https://fansonline.net/portsmouth/mb/view.php?id=759727
Read their forum a few times of late and it seems there’s a couple obsessed with Newcastle fans infiltrating their forum , anyone that doesn’t go along with their views is a mag . Not saying it doesn’t happen but it seems obsessive with some
Sunderland and Pompey can consider it a dress rehearsal for the play-off final... two weeks after we've been promoted
The EFL have their dream final. Arguably the biggest 2 clubs outside the championship. Unfortunately, I can see a 80k plus attendance.
I wonder if it would be the same dream final had it been two premier league reserve teams, with a crowd of about 500 there. More like a total embarrassment.
I just went to the Ipswich one and as much as I enjoyed it up to the start of the match it was an awful feeling going home
The momentum we gained from playing and winning that cup pushed us on in league and playoffs. Lets hope it acts as more of a distraction to sunderland. We need to beat them and put pressure right on em
Cheers mate. I was pretty easy about the game last night but now we are through the interest has taken off massively. I'm pretty sure we will sell our 38k and more if we could get our hands on them. As has been said on here before, when you were in the same situation and won it you got a boost in the league and I'm hoping for the same. While I'm visiting, pretty shocking what's happened to you re McGeehan, if it hadn't been on Sky it wouldn't have gone anywhere. Everyone should be treat the same and you haven't been. I know it's been said we've been lucky getting a few overturned this season, we have but we are still annoyed at the fact those draws could have been wins if the correct decision was made at the time. They say it all evens out over time but I'm not sure if that's true.
Enjoy your day out mate it’s a great day and craic whatever you decide either mates, family or both . It’s a cup final there’s only three in English professional footballl whatever the nay sayers say . Most teams that are out or havnt been disrespect it because they aren’t going imo. It was a fantastic day when we went and getting to the final after the semi spurred us on no end . We were already on a decent run but the impact after the semi was brilliant. I’ll be watching it, it should be a good game two decently matched teams a good attendance both coming through low points and getting back to where they belong along with us obviously . The league is still to play for but I still think Luton will hit a sticky patch I’ve more than a sneaky feeling it’s us and you who will go up auto
